Guest guest
Am I reading this incorrectly, or is there an increased risk of malignancy with jra? Something else to worry about? Diane (, 4, pauci)
Guest guest
Hi Diane, I'm not sure exactly which part of that paper you were thinking of, regarding malignancy, but in reading through it again I think the emphasis was on prior to making a definitive diagnosis of JRA, that doctors need to conduct an extremely thorough exam in order to differentiate between all the possible causes of the presenting symptoms so they can work on ruling out malignancies and infections having symptoms very similar to the way arthritis sometimes presents. Guest guest
Hi, I just wanted to add that sometimes what we read can be a bit overwhelming. It was just last week that Georgina posted an article about Enbrel causing aplastic anemia.I was reading the MTX patiant insert again last night and the first few paragraphs is death from this and death from that including aplastic anemia. There is always something to make us nervous when it comes to these drugs and this disease. Does it have a high risk of serious side effects or like every other drug has side effects? Thanks all. Patty

Patty, Actualy just the opposite. It has a very good track record and serious side effects are rare but they have to list everything. Some of those drug commercials just tickle me.Allergy medicines causing flu, sinuitis and ear infections, lol what is that all about.
