pediatrician has seen some go off meds when the thyroid swelling went down, but

Alyssa's 'goiter' is down and she's still on meds. A simple fix, one small pill

a day, than what I thought we were initially looking at (the same thoughts as

you had, tumor). She gets followed regularly by an endocrinologist and blood

work to check levels, etc. I had noticed that her pants were getting snug on

her (unusual for her), but thought it was puberty and she was 'fattening up'.

She was just starting to get cold all the time and exhausted when I began to

question/wonder and then bam the goiter showed. She also wasn't developing.

Per the doctor and the labs she was hypo for quite some time, basically had

no thryoid running in her, which explained a lot including the lack of

development. Now she is back on track with everything:)

Hi Helen,

Oh, my. Waking up one morning and becoming aware of a growth like that

would have truly frightened me! And you had no other symptoms or any

signs of anything being wrong, prior to that? How scary.

Yea, I had a ton of symptons, but I always found reasons for them, just having given birth, having a baby, toddler and a stepson to look after. Still new to the country and missing home and family. Working a full time job while trying to start up a new business. There were always reasons why i felt soo crappy!!! Or so I thought.... You know us mothers, we just keep on going, taking care of everyone around us before ourselves.

Im always amazed at how much i learn on a daily basis from this list.... Now Ive learnt a little about something i had never heard of before.!!!
