Guest guest
Just a question here.. for those who have vision affected children. Do your children complain of blurry vision? Or is it pain? Or what? Or are there any symptoms of vision being affected? Or has it just been found on exam? We are late on getting her eyes checked and she is having blurry vision. I know it could be something else, or just typical vision thing but I worry. Thanks for the info. I'll be setting up an eye exam as soon as possible. e
Guest guest
Kris- Uveitis can be asymptomatic -- it was for . But the signs you're supposed to look for are red eyes, pain, sensitivity to light and vision problems . . . so it's certainly something to be checked out. I take her in every time I have a concern even though it's usually just pink eye. Diane (, 4, pauci)
Guest guest
Hi Kris, Most times, I believe the inflammation is picked up during the exam and that there are no associated symptoms. The only time complained of eye pain was when he had sensitivity to light during a bout with conjunctivitis. He also woke up with heavy discharge from his eyes. Not a pretty sight. When he said his vision was getting blurry and we rushed in to have his eyes checked, it turned out that he had become mildly nearsighted. Prescription lenses solved that problem. His cataracts have not yet caused any visual deterioration although the eye doctor tells us that he may very well need surgery for them at some point in the future. Since he's been able to get to a low dosage of daily prednisone, maybe they will remain stable. I hope it turns out to be something that's not too serious.
