Well I'm more then dissapointed from this doctors appointment. First of all I had to wait an hour before I even got back to a room. Which never happens to me, only to find out my rheumi isn't even there. So I ended up seeing some rheumatologist I never met. So basically she didn't know me or how I usually am, though she had heard about me through the meetings all the rhuemis have together I guess. So she basically told me oh the methotrexates not working, hmm too bad just stay on it maybe it will, oh your nauseous? Oh ok well here's some anti nausea medicine.. mouth sores.. those look more like blisters.. Ok so I dunno maybe its just me but mouth blisters doesn't seem that great either.. but because they didn't look like ulcers she wasn't concerned... am I the only one who finds that odd. Then my mom asked if we could get a prescription of pain meds to use if i'm in a lot of pain which I have been for the last three weeks. She wasn't to keen on it because it wouldnt be doing anything to cure the problem so she didn't want to do it. Well I personally feel like I'd like pain relief even if its temporary.. but hey I'm just the kid suffering with it.. what do I know. And then once again I was told that they found some weird cells in my urine.. that it could either be skin cells that ended up in there or bacteria.. They have been telling me this for three months.. yet have never done anything about it. Because I have no symptoms of a kidney or urine infection.. My doctor will be back in town on Monday so she's going to give us a call.. because she said that if the MTX didn't work within the first six weeks we would go to enbrel.. yet this doctor knew nothing about this plan. I'm very frustrated sorry to rant..

Go ahead and rant! It sounds like a very frustrating drs appt. Are you still having the low grade fever? With having a weird urine test and the fever combined sounds like an infection of some sort to me. Did she even take your temp? About the mouth sores, you should be taking folic acid every day (not just a multi vitamin, but a supplement of folic acid) to help with that. also finds it very helpful to rinse every day with Listerine (it has medication in it, that helps better than just a plain mouth wash). Try it to see if it helps. I agree on the pain relief. Do you take any NSAID's which would help the inflammation and in turn should help with the pain? Until the MTX can kick in. Sometimes it does take time for it to work, but you should have something to give you some relief. It is always frustrating when you can't see your reg dr. Too bad you did not know in advance so you could switch the appt to when she was there. Good luck. Michele (mom to 16, pauci & spondy)

Yeah my mom wants it put into my medical record to say that I should only see my doctor and no one else, and to give us a call if she'll be unavailable. I am on folic acid 1 mg a day.. and we have bioteen which my mom has boughten for me.. its the same stuff they use for people who are going through serious chemo.. but for some reason their still there. I'll try listerine thanks for the tip. I'm also on 200 mg of celebrex twice a day... so yeah hopefully monday i can work things out with my doctor...
