Guest guest
Breast cancer takes a stand with a pink ribbon, childhood cancer has their gold, aids has their red, Lupus fighters with their violet, diabetes with their gray ribbons with a single red dot to bring it together.. Each disease horrible in its own entirety. Which brings me to my next thought, do we have a ribbon? I know I've searched the Internet about a million times looking for it.. yet I can't find it. My backpack lined with a childhood cancer awareness ribbon for the kids at the camp I volunteer with, a red one for the aids patients that my grandmother a hospice nurse has dedicated her life to, and a pink one in honor or my aunt.. but there is an empty space waiting for that ribbon.. one that to me would hold a whole different importance the ribbon which represents the fight I and many of the kids have fought and are still fighting to this day. So if I have somehow missed the memo I'd love to know what our ribbon is. Otherwise does anyone have an idea how to instate a ribbon. That is definitely a project I would love to start... Guest guest
If we don't have one we definitely should. And I'm making it my personal mission to make it happen.. (poly jra and spondy 18)

Guest guest
Well so far what I have found is that royal blue is the arthritis ribbon and silver is the childhood disability ribbon.. we could combine those, but they have been used before in honor of the Columbine shootings. Perhaps we could take a poll through all the kids on what color they think their arthritis is.. and make that our color for a ribbon. Guest guest
What a great idea! I am behind you 100% Perhaps if we check the arthritis website we could find some info. Please let me know how to help you. I too want to make this happen. What color would you like - maybe some shade of blue? That has not been used yet. We can all make this happen. What a great way to spread awareness. Michele ( 16, pauci & spondy) -----Original Message-----From: superstahlisa@... Guest guest
Hello, about 2 years ago the local Shriners Hospital held a JRA pizza party for the kids with JRA to meet other kids like them. My daughter was surprised that there were other kids like her some worse than her and some not so bad. well anyway they had given each kid a little bag full of stuff, markers, coloring books, candy, a gold coin and a pin which is blue in color and attached was a little bit of info... it says. " One in six American's is affected by Arthritis. Help build awareness and show your support by wearing this pin" I though maybe this was the Arthritis pin like alot of other diseases have pins. it came from the Arthritis Foundation. has anyone ever seen one? my daughter wears it every day either on her clothes or jacket.. just though i would put my 2 cents in while we were talking about pins.. kellie & 9 yr poly JRA >From: superstahlisa@... >Reply- > >Subject: Our Ribbon >Date: Wed, 24 Sep 2003 23:20:16 EDT > >Breast cancer takes a stand with a pink ribbon, childhood cancer has their >gold, aids has their red, Lupus fighters with their violet, diabetes with their >gray ribbons with a single red dot to bring it together.. Guest guest
I think it would be great if we could find a royal blue ribbon with silver stars on it. The kids that fight this disease are indeed STARS! It would be a perfect combination of the two colors yet with additional meaning. Guest guest
Hi All, Personally I think Jana's idea, about using a royal blue ribbon that has silver stars on it, is a wonderful and very unique, expressive way to represent JRA.
