Guest guest
My son was on Naprosyn for a while and he was having really bad stomach problems. The doctor switched him to Vioxx and he hasn't had any problem since. That was a couple of years ago. I guess one doesn't really know if it is contributed to medication or not, but you might want to mention it to your doctor and switch meds to see if it makes a difference. Guest guest
Thank you for making us aware of this. My daughter could not tolerate naproxen so we stopped it very quickly, still, it's good to know. Are any of those drugs really safe? I wish I knew... Having seen a recent Frontline on the FDA and their lax oversight of drugs, I must say if they issued a warning it must be that they have quite a bit of evidence in that direction. Although naproxen is over the counter by now, so they wouldn't be so worried about not stepping on any toes. Sad, isn't it? Thanks again, Annie & nne (6yo, pauci) > The FDA just issued a warning on naprosyn about three hours ago. The NIH was conducting a study with naprosyn and Celebrex and the effects with Alzheimer's patients. The study just got cancelled because of an increased risk of heart and cerebral problems. The FDA says that people should not exceed the recommended doses of naprosyn or take it longer for ten days. n has been taking it for five years, but she has developed chest pain this year that no one can explain.
