Guest guest
Many prayers your way. I do believe in the power of prayer. (n, 14, systemic) update/donna Hello my friends! I wanted to send an update to those with enquiring minds. I returned to the docs today for another round of labs. Hoping desperately to hear my HgL (hemoglobin) was on the rise I was disappointed to hear otherwise. I should be close to 13 and when I left the hospital it was 9.1, last week it was 9.7, today it was 9.5 which means it is lowering rather then raising. This is not good news. The docs want it it raising (not lowering or leveling). The white count is still high and not lowering any. The explanations are still severe hemolytic anemia where my body is continuing to produce (Bad) antibodies that are attacking the (good)red blood cells leaving me with all the symptoms. I am taking spells (peaks and valleys) in my days where I feel better for a bit but then I am back down. The emotional ride is the worst but I am hanging tough (for the most part) and trying to keep it all together. Another transfusion is out fo the question for now and the docs are playing it out right now. If things get better in the next week I will begin to taper my prednisone but for now it is still 60 mg per day. This dose is of course is a concern because of the JRA. If things remain as they are or lower any more there will be other courses of treatment, either chemotherapy meds or the removal of my spleen. I do not put much thought in this as I spend my time trying to feel better and living each day as it comes to me. It is literally minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day. Although I feel as my massive mountain of spirit is being threatened I am fighting the wrecking ball that is trying to knock me over and will continue to do so. I want to thank you all of you for your continued thoughts and prayers and am asking that as my best buds you keep em coming...luv and hugs to all...Donna To leave this mailing list, send request to: -unsubscribe

Guest guest
Hi Donna When I was pregnant with my twins my red blodcount was soo low that they gave me 1/2 gallon of blood. I didn't improve the red bloodcount(hemoglobin) until some one found out that I was low on copper. And when I started taking copper my iron went up because then my body could absorb the iron. mybe something you could ask the doctor about? Also eating something with vitamin C when you take iron helps the body absorb iron. Avoid milkproducts, that makes it harder for the body to absorb iron. Good luck and get well soon so that you can enjoy the summer and get strength. mum to Jackie syst.poly. P.S. I did not help me to get the bloodtransfusions.D.S. >From: faces1999@... >Reply- >almasters@..., Rockola85@..., Voyagerrick@..., redneck4800@..., bjpurple23@..., tsappenfield@..., Mph85@..., foxnf@..., treesap61@..., Daisy71972@..., dogpatch20@..., stevewick@..., dam755@..., BABE149@..., km4you@..., Golden1964@..., arhianrhod@..., Jayc402@..., deseraecc@..., toowildinky@..., Eray412@..., foxracing@..., MRFLERP@..., Whalpig24@..., mikes@..., mbaker@..., gmckin@..., robert@..., DAVIDINC2000@..., bruno11111963@..., kingery@..., Mullytek@..., pjfischer@..., sharon_dorough@..., snooksmama@..., THETINMOM@..., Thes1989@..., Tohlin@..., TYaney731@..., >Subject: update/donna >Date: Wed, 25 Jun 2003 16:51:28 EDT > >Hello my friends! You seem to be such an encouraging and great person, sending always positive thoughts to everybody, that it feels so sad to see that you're going through such hard times. I deeply hope for a soon recovery and pain free times for you. I've read around here that prayers can really help you during tough times, and I really believe it too. Please keep up the great spirit. Guest guest
Donna: Rob has a bit of scoliosis and also a spondylolysis (fracture) and spondylolisthesis (slippage). You know it can be congenital. Luckily, Rob didn't have to be treated with a brace, but did PT, and it helped a lot. He goes back to the doctor next week. What orthopedist is he seeing? Glad that 's issues are 'just' asthma...bless his heart. Hope your guys are feeling better soon. PS Molly told me about the article for Kentucky Living! Excellent success! Be sure and send a copy of the article out to us! Also, would you send me your contact person's email or mailing addy, and I'll send him some Arthritis Walk press releases. Great job! He has had back problems for a few years and his * & ^* @$$ pediatrician has said it is growing and he is having backaches. In the past few months it has grown severe. He awakens at night crying and doesn't always keep up with friends due to pain. I insisted on further evaluation and today was our first orthopedic appointment. It seems he has scoliosis and spondylisis and even has a small fracture in his lower back. He will go into a back brace for 6 weeks, go through some PT, and has been placed on 3 medications, including naprosyn. I am still a bit overwhelmed and although this is minor in comparison to the many kiddos on the list it has been a hard pill to swallow today. I am glad we got into what seems a good ortho when we did and this did not go any longer. As for , the consensus is his problems are still all asthma related, so that is actually a relief. I hope all are well and hangin tight! Hugs and smiles! Donna
