Hi Lena,

I love getting letters like yours! I hope that you are continuing to feel positive about your healing and that you are feeling great. It sounds like Dr. Huang did an outstanding job. I've heard a number of women discuss the fact that their scar capsules were adhered to the chest wall.... said hers had to be scraped off and it took a couple of nurses to hold her down while it was being tugged out! Sounds icky! But they do what they gotta do, thankfully, and it is all for our best.

So, you are not alone there, and I hope that you are feeling much more freedom now, much better and keep up with that very positive outlook on your prospects for getting total health back. It will take time, no doubt, but you've done the best thing you could have done for yourself. I am so happy to hear from you!

Patty

Subject: Hello.

Hello.I hope everyone is doing o.k. I will be at the three week mark on Monday from when I was explanted. I have good and bad days, but the bad days aren't nearly what they were before. A lot of the bad days stem from normal healing after surgery and anesthesia. There really have been a lot of over-all improvements already. My Sjogren's symptoms are definately lessened, by at least half, I have no pain in my legs and none in my back. I am afraid it will come back, but I'm praying it won't.I haven't had one asthma attack and I really feel like it's MUCH easier to breathe. It's nice to take a deep breath without a stabbing pain in your chest! :P My rosacea has all but gone away. I know it seems awfully early to be any better, but I certainly am feeling better. My surgical report said that the capsules around my implants were "very adherent to the chest wall. which made the capsule harder to elevate. Hemostasis was achieved with the electrocautery." My doctor told me that she had to go in pretty deep around the base of the breast to get out the capsules and she feels very good about getting it all out. No wonder I was sore and couldn't exercise anymore. Before surgery I had felt constant pain! Now my breasts don't hurt a bit. I am so thankful that I got them out. I think my new breasts look cute and very feminine. I'm starting to feel like myself again. I pray for everyone here and I hope no one is feeling discouraged right now. Hang in there. Prayers and Love, Lena

Hello Patty,

I hope you're doing better after your sting. It sounds like you

really should call your doctor again, although I know it's difficult

sometimes. I am having brain fog today. It's weird how some days I

feel o.k. and other days I am so tired.

In general, when do breasts start to look more like what they will

look like? I know that over time they will change and sag more, but

I just wonder when I can get a more realistic idea of how they will

be. Maybe there is no set time, I guess, since people are so

different. It is so strange to go from being large to so much

smaller- I really like it. My one concern is that I'm a little

swollen in the nipple area on one side. I guess it's not important,

but since the doctor didn't want to do a lift I am getting a little

paranoid maybe. I know that usually people do get a lift and this

was a concern of mine-of eventually having my nipples at my belly

button or something. :P Oh, well. I will hope for the best. I know

gravity rides everything, but hopefully not too quickly.

Take Care,

Lena

Hi

I too am from the UK, i live in Glasgow. There is a website from the national

rheumatoid arthrits society www.nras.co.uk ( i think or google nras), they have

lots of information online and they can send information out to you, the also

have a volunteer helpline and they run support groups maybe if you have a check

they will have something near you.

[ ] Hello.

Hi, I'd just like to say hello and introduce myself. I was diagnosed

at Easter with RA and Hypothyroidism after months of being told that I

was suffering from depression etc, I was close to collapse when they

finally decided to take blood tests and discovered how ill I actually

was. My liver and kidneys had started to fail.

I go to see the senior consultant next week.

I feel quite isolated at times and don't know anyone else who has

either of these conditions.

I live in a quiet area of Cornwall UK and just wondered if there were

any support groups nearby?

Thank you

Mad Hatter,

This is a wonderful support group that you're on right now. We have a

lot of compassionate, supportive people who have been where you are.

, our moderator, keeps us educated by posting pertinent articles on

autoimmune diseases. So if you have any questions, just ask away.

I have had RA for almost nine years now. I can't believe it's been that

long, but time marches on. I had a rough time at first, but am doing

fine now with Enbrel, one of the biologics. In fact, I've been doing

great ever since I started it over five years ago.

You don't have to feel isolated any more; you're among friends.
