Guest guest
Hi Bee I am wondering about stopping Vit A for a time as I think I might be experiencing mild toxicity symptoms. I've had a little bit of dry scabbing under my nose and then in the past few days have developed a dry flaky chin, which I've never had before. I've been taking the recommended dosage and cod liver oil and sometimes eating liver, which didn't seem like an excessive amount. However, I've been reading that if you are zinc deficient, then you won't have the enzyme needed to release the stored form of the vitamin from the liver, and zinc prevents possible toxicity. Every time I've been tested for zinc (hair tests etc) I have come up zinc deficient, even though I take it and eat a lot of eggs and offal etc. I know that in stress and adrenal fatigue we use up a lot of zinc. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/vitamins/vitaminA/ Anyway, shall I give the pre-formed vitamin A a rest and just carry on taking the cod liver oil? I am taking Vit D too at the moment, as we have no light here and very short dark days in the North of England. thanks
