Guest guest
Hi Suzanne I am not sure the hair loss is necessarily linked to the diet - I already was shedding badly when I joined the diet. As many people are really quite poorly by the time they get to Bee's Diet, it is possible that their bodies are already at the stage where they are not absorbing nutrients properly. Detoxing can trigger hair loss, but it doesn't happen to everyone - unless you know that you tend to detox through your scalp in general. Personally I would wait and see what happens before you do anything as drastic as shaving it all off!. It won't all fall out overnight! Guest guest
Hi , I think this is a detox reaction for me. Because I do eat very well. But I am sure I don't absorb nutrients like I should. I've had a rash on my scalp for the last two years and just recently started working on getting rid of it thru diet and supplements. The red, inflamed rash is clearing up but now it is dry and itchy. So the rash is drying up and the skin is coming off. It wasn't until I started doing this that I started shedding. While the scalp was inflamed, I didn't lose much hair. So how is your hair doing now? Any improvement with following the diet? I hope so. I just hate seeing hair all over the place. It's a mind thing really. Thanks for your reply. Suzanne > > > > Hello group, > > > > I am experiencing tremendous hair shedding. Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, I was very depressed that my once full head of hair was getting thinner and thinner. Each shower I had a fist full of hair. I went and got a short hair cut and it is so cute now. If you haven't gotten a hair cut lately it may help you feel better. It did me, as a matter of fact now my hair isn't falling out anymore. What was falling out was hair that was breaking off because it was dead. Is your hair currently long? All the best, > > > > > > Hello group, > > > > > > I am experiencing tremendous hair shedding. Guest guest
Hi Suzanne. I have been on the diet now for nearly 8 months and the hair loss is definitely slowing down. I suspect I have been doing a lot of detoxing through my scalp too. For some years I used to get an itchy scalp and little 'gritty' bits coming off, or out of it all the time, which was probably a detoxing thing (or maybe a fungal thing). My body is ridding itself of 53 years of accumulated crud and it isn't going to happen overnight, so I am just having to grit my teeth and put up with it. At least I do still have some hair albeit considerably less than originally, and when it is newly washed it looks a lot thicker for a day or two. I am glad that if it has to fall out it has done it evenly and not fallen out in clumps! For years I had to wash my hair every other day as my scalp was so greasy and itchy, but now I can go for several days without having to wash it so that is something. I don't have dandruff any more. I am pretty sure that having been pretty low-carb for nearly three years and on Bee's Diet for these months has knocked Candida and it's accompanying fungal friends into a cocked hat, but I am still getting rid of the fall-out from having it in my body all those years. I do think the types of reactions we get are pretty individual, and depends very much on the damage and degree of toxicity in one's body. Maybe someone younger than me would get through this a lot sooner. Your rash has probably been your body's way of trying to deal with the toxins you were ingesting in your food, etc. When I think about the time I was on low-carb 25 years ago or so and how much better I was as a result, I could kick myself for wasting all the interim years having gone back to the Western Diet. I didn't realise back then that the diet is damaging everyone to a greater or lesser degree, so just spent all those years feeling sorry for myself - why did it make ME fat? Why did it give ME diabetes? Why could 'everyone' else eat it and not be sick or fat? But of course it does get to them all eventually one way or another. Now, instead of feeling sorry for myself I feel sorry for 'everyone' else who is still caught in its trap! Ali. > > > > > > Hello group, > > > > > > I am experiencing tremendous hair shedding. Guest guest
Hello Group and Suzanne! I too have been struggling, on and off, for the past 2-1/2 years with severe hair loss. Like you, there was so much, it was depressing. A month ago, I started using Borax (20 Mule Team) to rinse my hair after I washed it, and my hair loss situation has improved dramatically..... Borax is supposed to have anti-fungal properties. Not only is my hair loss significantly reduced, my scalp is much healthier. Put a heaping tsp or so in 3-4 cups of hot water and make sure it is completely dissolved, otherwise there will be white residue left in your hair. Don't rinse it out, and leave it on your head for at least 30 minutes to an hour. I like to do this at night....I dry my hair, leaving the Borax to do it's thing overnight. Then in the morning, if I want more manageable hair, I wet it and apply conditioner and dry again. Otherwise, I just pull it back. The first two times I used Borax, I also used 's Dandruff Shampoo, which also may have helped. But I had to discontinue using it, as I am severely chemically sensitive and couldn't tolerate it, even though it is supposed to be a more 'natural' product. Fortunately, the Borax has continued to do the job, so I will stick with it. Eventually, I may decide to apply it once a week, instead of every night (or every time I shampoo). I hope this helps some of you, as it has me.
