bone broth and lemon

I am still avoiding lemon because I am worried that I'm not ready for it.  I

would like to give my baby (10  months) bone broth, but will we still get the

benefits if I do NOT include the lemon juice?

I am going VERY slowly with this diet.  I plan to re-introduce cod liver oil in

the next few days, then maybe try either some egg or butter.  Long history of

allergies here, so I am not comfortable going quickly.  : )

Thanks,

Hi ,

I believe the broth requires the acid from the lemons in order for the bones to

release their minerals. The lemon juice gets watered down quite a bit, so I

wouldn't think you or your baby would have such a strong reaction to such a

small amount.

Hi , I don't use lemon in my broth. The bones go soft still, so they must

be giving up their minerals.

All the best
