Guest guest
Jen, I just wanted you to know that I, too, am a nursing mom with a baby who has been battling thrush. Hang in there. I have seen improvement in my baby's diaper area and bowels since starting Bee's diet, and I'm not even being 100 percent faithful to it. Yes, I am incredibly thankful to Bee and all the information she so clearly and carefully provides -- for free -- to so many people. Feel free to email me if you want to chat. : ) From: jennmcneebrown <jennmcneebrown@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Newbee asking about feeding a baby with candidiasis Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2010, 11:14 PM Bee, thanks so much for your prompt reply. You have no idea how happy that makes me. I will not even consider feeding him formula anymore. I previously had so many people tell me to stop feeding both my toddler and my baby due to candida. One woman told me I was selfish. I didn't really understand candida before and I would take all sorts not approved for breastfeeding mothers because I thought it would just go. Now I realise I was being selfish then, I just hope it hasn't done any permanent damage. This is really the fight of my life. As i've told you i'm a vegetarian but after 12 months of sore nipple thrush that never seems to go away and various other symptoms including stomach, ear and mouth symptoms as well as others, i'm thinking I may have to eat meat again judt until i'm over this and I hope I get over this. Thank you so much for providing this resource, you're an angel One more question, what to do when you can't get coconut oil? I actually like it:) Thanks again bee, Jen > > > > Bee and friends, > > I don't know if this is a question you can help me with but I'll ask anyway. I have had nipple thrush since before my baby was born (my toddler and I got it from a course of antibiotics and to be honest, I've had candida elsewhere pretty much all my life so it was probably inevitable) Anyway, I gave my son thrush and whilst his never got that bad as I knew since birth that he had it and I managed to control it with a number of things- gentian violet (yeah, I'm not proud I used it but it was the only thing that worked), calendula gel (amazing stuff), probiotics- for him and me, caraway (the oil from the seeds), olive oil, chamomile tea for him and now coconut oil. > > > > My question is: we still have it despite everything and he's now 6 months, but would it be better for him if I stopped feeding him (I'm really hoping you say no as I fed my first until she was 2 1/2 and I had thrush for about half of that time) Would I be better able to treat his thrush if I stopped re- infecting him? Also, is me giving him thrush in his milk of higher value than formula? (I know formula's loaded with sugar so I'm at a loss.) > > +++Hi Jen, > > Your son did not get thrush from you after he was born, since it is not contagious and cannot be passed from one person to another. That is because each person's own body creates candida independent of anyone else or any outside source. You can no more " catch " candida from someone else than you can catch their broken finger. > > Your baby actually acquired candida before he was born, which is explained in " Candida Treatments for Babies & Children: > http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/baby.php > > Breastmilk is very important for your baby's health as the article above explains. Also it tells you how to treat your baby's candida. > > All the best, Bee
