Guest guest
I bought something called Mannose and botanicals for my urinary tract infection. The ingredients are: d-mannose - 5 gm bearberry leaf blueberry -- whole fruit powder cranberry -- whole fruit powder Dandelion root goldenrod goldenseal parsley Obviously, this contains things that are not on the diet. I am feeling very worried, however, that if I don't treat this UTI I might end up having to take an antibiotic -- which I do NOT want to do if I can possibly help it. I am drinking lots of water and eating raw garlic, but don't know if that is going to clear the infection. I almost wonder if taking this --- and risking the recurrence of thrush in my baby -- is a better option than the UTI getting out of control and ending up on an antibiotic. Bee, can you advise? I was thinking of taking it tonight. Thanks!

We've also had many on group with UTI's that considered antibiotics. However, instead many approached the issue with parsley tea and other suggestions listed below and recovered, as I'm sure you can too. Get some parsley from your local supermarket, if you have none in the house or you may make garlic tea. Which you'll find the recipe in the link I've provided, below. How to make Parsley Tea * Boil 4 cups of filtered water. * Remove the water from the heat. * Mince (cut up finely) 4 heaping teaspoons of fresh parsley (including stems, & roots if you can get them). * Steep 20 minutes; strain — it is okay to drink hot or cold, and it may be reheated without harming it, but do not boil it. * Drink all 4 cups throughout the course of one day, for 6-7 days. , here is the link to the above suggestion and more. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/women5.php Best in Health, Ed group moderator
Guest guest
Dear , My own experience with UTI's is that in the past when they got terrible I took the antibiotics (unhappily) and of course they made the candida much worse. But since I've been working toward being on Bee's diet completely and on it strictly (about 7 or 8 months), I've realized something for myself. What 'feels' like a urinary infection is in fact so totally candida-related that being very strict with the diet for 3 to 5 days I found it simply disappeared! I have no idea how to explain it; if it is more candida localized in the area or something else related, so I call it " candida related. " And it was bad enough that I had severe burning on urination. A western doctor would caution that antibiotics are so 'needed' because of possible kidney infection, etc. These symptoms just went away completely when I was strict for just a few days. I didn't know about the parsley tea for UTI's and other things that Ed advised, or I would have tried those, of course. Parsley tea is very powerful -- I know because for literally decades I've seen references to it for some types of cleansings (sorry, don't remember now), and once I drank too much at one time and paid the price with healing reactions. I hope you can recover quickly, -- I know how annoying these symptoms are. Guest guest
Thank you , Ed. I will try the parsley tea, as well as the garlic tea. I am already eating raw garlic. Guest guest
Thanks, Jude, for your input. I didn't have much pain when urinating. Rather, just a frequent urge to urinate, plus pain in my lower, left abdominal region. And a terrible headache. And the mastitis. I have not been drinking nearly enough water over the past few days, and have also not gotten much sleep. I think you experience of what once seemed like a UTI being candida-related is fascinating and will keep it in mind, for sure. I am not fully on the diet. I think part of the culprit was that I was drinking too much decaf coffee. Like 3 cups a day. That will now stop. Please re-read my message to you! If you want to check it out, get tested and let me know if they find any bugs of any kind. If you are on this program you cannot get so bad you'd ever need a poison like antibiotics to treat something. What do you think people did before drugs and poisons were available? Back then doctors were still advising people to eat well, particularly the body building nutrients like meats, eggs, butter, and to not have sugars and starches. I think it is important for you to read more so you understand the natural healing processes your body goes through. Then you won't become so scared and think you need to treat each and every symptom like doctors do <<<We know that doesn't work!! Please re-read my message to you about this, and also read the article on retracing. You are becoming overly concerned about something that is normal to happen on this program. However, ensure you aren't having fruits of any kind since they will make your bladder burn and increase your urge to urinate, along with having too much tea. Your headache is also caused by toxins being released. Any nutrients you are giving your body to this point will help your body heal even if you aren't completely on the program. Therefore your UTI and mastitis, which were more recent, will be among the first symptoms your body will retrace. Bee

Guest guest
Bee, thanks for your reply. I am sorry if I missed your previous response to my question. I looked -- twice, I thought -- for an email and did not find one. I did get one from Ed, who guided me toward parsley tea -- YUM! -- thanks, Ed. Again, I'm sorry if I missed your first response. I must have somehow missed it. Sorry to make you respond twice. Best, From: Bee <beeisbuzzing2003@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Please advise -- Is this okay to use for a urinary tract infection? Guest guest
I'm going through this too,and am very discouraged. I use to get UTI's often which is why I'm in the condition I am today. Everytime with antibiotics which I believe has put me into a vicious cycle. I was able to avoid UTI's for 2 years which I thought was due to changing my diet to Traditional, adding probiotics and natural vitamins. But, then back in June I got another infection. I tried several herbal things, D-Mannose, Echinasea, etc. but, after 10 days of excruciating pain I succumed to the antibiotic. Then, this past Tuesday, I began feeling the familiar itch that seems to be the way it starts out, so right away I started the D-Mannose and got a culture done to see if it was bacteria. In the mean time, I started parsely tea on Thursday (Thanksgiving) but, wasn't able to give it chance to see if it worked because by then it was getting worse instead of better. Again I worried that it would go to my kidneys, and the pain was so bad. I still waited to get the results of the culture which turned out to be ecoli and I finally gave in to the antibiotic. Today although the pain is slowly going away, I still feel the itch that I usually feel before the infection starts. So, I'm thinking it must be yeast and I'm pretty much feeling doomed because, If it's candida, it's going to get even worse with the antibiotic which in turn will cause more UTI's. If I don't find something that really works to kill bacteria other than antibiotics it will end up beating me. About 6 weeks ago, I started GAPS intro so, I would think I'd be starving the bad bugs and yeast etc. The only thing that could be is that I have been eating butternut squash but, compared to what I was eating before, it's very minimal so, why would this come on now whem I'm eating better than ever? Except for the butternut squash, which I stopped as of yesterday, is there something else I could do right now to thwart the yeast quick enough as to not risk another infection as soon as I get rid of this one. I know I'm rambling on and I'm in such a panic right now. Someone gave me some ideas of alternatives for antibiotics and of course I will have them on hand for the next time, but, if the don't work what then??? I'm hesitant to send this because I know there's no quick fixes but, I feel so desperate. Thanks for listening. Lori > > <snip> > > Obviously, this contains things that are not on the diet. My sister is a nurse and she cured her infection by drinking it for 7 days, after 2 rounds of antibiotics didn't help her. Many people come here from GAPS and other programs because they don't get the results from them. Other programs also believe you can starve candida, or kill it off in order to cure it, but that is not true, and many of the foods they recommend are damaging or too high in sugars. It has been known for centuries that sugars and starches aren't healthy for humans. So candida cannot be cured by " killing it off " or " starving it " like others believe. Candida is only cured by building up the immune system, which is done by: 1) Consuming " proper nutrients " (my diet plus supplements), 2) Eliminating toxins and foods that feed candida (they also feed bacteria and cancer), 3) Eliminating damaging foods, and 4) Eliminating toxins in general. When you are healthy enough your own body will automatically " make " candida (or any bug, cancer, etc.) change back into the organism it is supposed to be when the body is healthy. This program has proved over and over again to be an overall healing program that improves anyone's health, and that's why it isn't just for people with candida.
