Thank you in advance for any help.

@@ Hi Deborah,

Nutritional Yeast Flakes is not the same as regular yeast. What makes

nutritional yeast different is that the fungus, usually saccharomyces

cerevisiae, is deactivated very early in the production process. Thus, it does

not feed Candida.

A basic description of this process is as follows:

1 - A producer grows the yeast, letting it feed on beet molasses,

sometimes mixed with sugar cane.

2 - The yeast is pasteurized, or heated at very high temperatures, to

kill the active cultures.

3 - Once inactive, it is dried and becomes small irregularly shaped

flakes.

4 - Finally it is packaged and sold.

Nutritional Yeast Flakes is fortified with additional vitamins and minerals

during step three of the production process.

The Nutritional Yeast Flakes brands recommended are : Red Star, Frontier or NOW

brands. Take two (2) tablespoons per day mixed into water or other liquids, or

into foods.

If you take Nutritional Yeast Flakes you do not require B Vitamin or Niacin

supplements.
