Nystatin, diet, die-off questions

Hello, I searched the messages on nystatin and didn't find what I was looking

for.

My sister-in-law has told me for years my problems were caused by yeast

overgrowth and while I listened, I only made a few small changes in my diet,

like not having soda and trying to eat less pre-packaged junk. My motto has

been " Stay away from the box, I repeat, Stay away from the box " (you have to say

it in a low manly voice to make it sound right)Anyway, I got stung by a bee

about a month ago and being allergic, I ended up in th ER, where they put me on

predisona and some other things.

I've had yeast infections regularly for years on the inside, but when I had

sores on the inside of my legs that were so awful looking, yet didn't even

hurt, I freaked. The doc said it was a yeast infection and gave me cream

nystatin. That reminded me of a book i had read called " The Yeast Connection " .

The doctor who saw me for the skin infection poo-pooed me when i asked her

opinion of yeast growing in the intestines and such. She said she had only

heard of skin yeast infections and mouth infections. *sigh*

So I went to my family doctor hoping he'd get me the perscription for nystatin

powder that the book recommended. Long story there, but he ended up calling a

pharmacy in some other state and I paid for it out of pocket. This is where my

question really is. The book speaks of die off and how I'll feel so much worse,

but I don't. I kind of feel better. I forgot to mention that I have been on a

practically sugar free diet since the bee skin infection 2 and a half weeks ago

and the nystatin for 6 days only. Will I feel worse (die-off) or am I choking

down this nasty powder for nothing?

The other question I have is in regards to the differences in the diets. How do

I know which is right? One difference that stands out is the no grains. The

Yeast Connection allows gluten-free grains like quinoa and amaranth, millet,

ect. but your site said to remove all grains and nuts. I couldn't get the link

to the article on your website to work to read the reasoning there. I also read

somewhere on the site that grains are ok if they are soaked and cooked slowly.

YC said the same and I was making porridge in the slow cooker overnight...choked

down some gross buckwheat that way....yuck!

YC also says that vinegar and pickled/fermented foods are bad because of the

mold in them? Yet, you and The Body Ecology book advocated them...

I am really serious about getting better. In the YC quiz, the high score to say

you had a severe yeast related problem was 180 and my score was 383. My

symptoms are too numerous to bother mentioning.

Losing a couple pounds wouldn't hurt either! ;)

Hi Becca,

Welcome to our group. Rather than replying to your message, it is important

that you read and learn first, so you understand why this program works so well

compared to any others.

There are very good reasons I do not recommend any antifungals like Nystatin,

and I also do not recommend taking probiotics.

Candida cannot be cured by " killing it off " as most candida programs claim.

Candida is only cured by building up the immune system, which is done by:

1) Consuming " proper nutrients " (diet plus supplements),

2) Eliminating toxins and foods that feed candida (they also feed bacteria and

cancer),

3) Eliminating damaging foods, and

4) Eliminating toxins in general.

When the immune system is strong enough it will automatically " make " candida (or

any bug, cancer, etc.) change back into the organism it is supposed to be when

the body is healthy.

The proof that this program works and is not just for curing candida is in these

wonderful Success Stories by members of this group:

First, read how the term " die-off " was fabricated and why I no longer use it,

however I am still re-writing many articles since this was a recent discovery:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php

After that read these two important articles:

How to Successfully Overcome Candida:

Curing Candida, How to Get Started:

After reading get back to us.

Actually, I have been reading and re-reading your site which is why I am asking

what I am asking. I know I get easily overwhelmed with so much information.

I have written down all the supplements I need and how much and exactly what

they are to get the right stuff. So, one of the articles you referred me to

answered the diet questions and had the info on grains that I couldn't find

before.

The article did still mention having " die-off " . I guess with one article saying

die off is a bunch of propaganda and then the next saying I will experience it,

could you just tell me if it is true that feeling worse is a sign you are on the

right track or is it possible that as I make all these changes faithfully, I

won't experience it? It's like I am looking for some sort of re-assurance that

I am doing it well enough. I don't feel like I am ready for the science behind

it; I just need to know if I should expect it.

I am 32 years old, feeling like I'm 80, so please be patient with me. I know I

need to make many changes. I know I've lived the all-American style of life and

it can't possibly be making me healthy. I'm getting discouraged by all the

conflicting info out there...

Also, what is your opinion of agave. You advocate stevia and it is my

understanding that agave is a low-glycemic sweetener just like stevia. I like

it better than stevia so I almost wonder if the fact that I like it should tell

me it's bad...It's like the packaging of organic and it not being organic--just

because " they " say it's good, doesn't really mean it is good.

Thanks,

Becca

@@ Hi Becca,

Bee is in process of revising her articles and one of the changes will be to

replace the term " die off " with healing reaction. Since that is really what it

is. Since Candida cannot be cured by " killing it off. " Candida is only cured by

building up the immune system.

So, try to take that into consideration when reviewing the articles. Thus,

helping you avoiding confusion and always feel free to ask any questions, if

unsure about anything.

Yes, if you are on Bee's diet program, you may at times feel a little worse

before better i.e die off symptom or better known as healing reaction. And

yes, this a normal process to progress on the path of healing and towards

health. Healing is an up and down process with more " ups " as you heal and

become healthier.

Becca, this below, will help you understand the difference between healing

reactions and dis-ease reactions.

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal15.php

In regards to Agave/Agave nectar, it contains the worst kind of sugar, which is

fructose. However, some people cannot tolerate any kind of sweetener, even

stevia, during the early stages of curing their candida. You also do not want to

feed your " sweet tooth " since candida feeds off of all sugars.

Take it Slow & Easy,

Ed
