Hi , thanks for your input.

I am afraid I am a bit of a 'work in progress'. I try things for a while and

see what happens, basically. I am working through a process of elimination -

within the constraints of Bee's Diet.

Whilst I feel that maybe in certain circumstances bicarb could be useful, I have

moved on (only two weeks I know). I actually feel a bit bad for bringing up the

bicarb issue as it opened a bit of a can of worms for Bee!

I was taking the HCL but it didn't seem to helping that much, so I thought I

would try bicarb instead, but that didn't do too much either.

What has happened since then is that because I have had this ongoing 'lump' in

my throat that I know is connected somehow to my digestion - I seem to get it

when I have a lot of gas - it's my esophagus getting kinked from the 'back

pressure' - when I couldn't sleep the other night as a result, I got up and had

a glass of water with some apple cider vinegar - about a tablespoon or so. I

can't remember why I thought of ACV - desperation perhaps?

I went back to bed and suddenly about 10 or 15 minutes later I could feel all

this - I can only describe it as - fizzing, going on in my side, back and neck.

That got me wondering, what if this issue I have in my back and under my left

armpit is actually calcium deposits in my muscles and the vinegar was dissolving

them?

I have had quite a lot of muscular issues over the years - although this one is

quite recent, only becoming apparent in the last three years or so. I have had

frozen shoulder, trapped thigh muscles, hips, fingers, etc., so calcium build-up

is obviously an issue for me.

As a Diabetic, apparently things like Charcot syndrome can be an issue, so maybe

I am on to something.

The vinegar seems to be helping - my digestion seems a little better, and the

issue in my back/left side doesn't seem to be as sore, so I am having the

vinegar before bed each evening, and tonight took some with my dinner too.

For those who can tolerate it, it seems that ACV can help a wide range of health

issues.

I also have been adding powdered vitamin C to my egg drink - about 5 grams a

day, and that seems to be helping much more than the tablets were. My BMs are

regular now and I am no longer constipated. I have also changed the cinnamon

for turmeric and add a little olive oil to the drink too.

I did wonder if it might be Helicobacter in my stomach so have been throwing

several things known to suppress or kill it, like the olive oil and turmeric to

see if that will help!

It has been frustrating that things that were with me for several years, like

the IBS, restless legs and burning feet, etc., have gone (and went when I cut

grains from my diet nearly three years ago), yet the things that have only

become apparent in the last three years are not showing any real signs of

packing their bags even though I have been on Bee's diet for 7 months!

I can't recommend that everyone takes ACV because some find that it exacerbates

Candida, but so far it seems to be helping me. Time will tell....

Ali.

> Just thought I'd share my experience with bicarb; I tried it before starting

Bee's programme, and it made me very very thirsty, so that I woke up every hour

in the night gasping for water. Over time it can also dilute stomach acid, which

as a Candida sufferer, is the last thing you want. I also did bicarb enemas

which were recommended to me by my nutrition teacher when I was studying. I

don't think it's any coincidence that during this period I suffered repeatedly

from 'food poisoning', reacting to things I'd never reacted to before, throwing

up after eating sushi etc. I got alarmed that I was changing my pH in an

artificial way, making my stomach and gut too alkaline. Personally I'd avoid it.

months- that's almost 2 years. I have had Candida from the age of 8 (I am 36),

and probably since birth since both my parents have it, and my Mum is very sick

with it (she's not on the diet). I still have a huge way to go- my adrenals are

shot, I have chemical and electrical sensitivities- *but* I have more energy,

stamina etc and am about 70% better from my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

taking HcL but it didn't work- how much are you taking? I was only taking it

half heartedly until 2 months ago when I upped my dosage. I can take 15 or more

a day without any burning, showing that my own acid production is very poor.

Good luck with the ACV- I can use it too but only sparingly. 7 months isn't that

long if you've been ill for a long time. I would suggest trying the HCl again,

loading it according to Bee's instructions to see where your threshold is. That

lump in the throat you describe is common for acid reflux,

all best .
