HCL safe? +++Hi , If she can swallow a whole HCl capsule it's okay, but you should never take the contents out of an HCl capsule since it will burn her mouth and throat. Ensure you are doing all of the other things to help her digestion, including only giving her well-cooked vegetables - review that section in my main candida article. Also ensure she is getting the right amount of ocean sea salt which also increases stomach acid, and eating everything together, with supplements only at meal times. Snacking in between causes problems for many reasons, but one is that " stomach acid is actually shut down somewhat when there is food emptying out of the stomach and it is travelling through the first part of the small intestines. Guest guest
Hi , Do you make sauerkraut? It is my understanding (I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong) that giving sauerkraut juice before meals is kind of like giving HCL. My dd has reflux and that's what I've given her.  in VA ________________________________ From: juliahosman <juliahosman@...> Sent: Mon, November 1, 2010 10:37:14 AM Subject: [ ] Toddler and HCL  Hi Bee and others, My toddler's health is always on my brain. Her abdomin is chronically bloated and I fear having her use the HCL after meals in case it's too much acid. An online nurse told me she has a multiple metabolic disease. I don't want to run from one doctor to the next with them shrugging their shoulders but giving me a medication or synthetic supplement to try. What do you think? HCL safe? Guest guest
Hi julia, the HCL is something I was reluctant to give my kids but represented a big step in terms of healing and digesting properly, so I'm glad I got over my hesitancy. There is a company that produces a really nice small capsule which is ideal for little ones. I will look it up for you.Try and do everything else you can to help her digest; cook all her veg really well and don't give her too much of it. Really concentrate on those fats but don't do anything too quick. My daughter suffered terrible tummy pains for several years along with so many other horrible mental and immune problems but is now getting so well thanks to Bee. Keep up the good work! All the best. > > Hi Bee and others, > > My toddler's health is always on my brain. > > Her abdomin is chronically bloated and I fear having her use the HCL after meals in case it's too much acid. Guest guest
Hi amd Bee, Sounds like you've really been down this road before me and I appreciate hearing your experiences. Have you actually done the ratios for your children? I can't seem to have the concentration or attention span to get organized in this way. When you prepare food for your children are there certain amounts of fats and proteins that you know are appropriate for example: when they eat 3 T. of fat with 2 oz. of protein and a couple cups of veggies the ratios are good. Just a random example. I have no idea if the ratios are even close. Bee, how about you? What is the simplest meal you put together that has the right ratios? I'll give her a hydrochloric acid tablet next meal.....oh, I hope it doesn't hurt her little tummy. :-( Thanks so much you guys!!!!
Guest guest
Hi , I do make saurkraut but my daughter doesn't like how sour it is. I haven't come up with a way to tone it down. Guest guest
Mine doesn't like the sauerkraut, but drinks the juice. I started with a spoon full here and there when she wasn't looking :-). Now she does a little shot of it... she asks for more, but I'm afraid of healing reactions so I stick with a shot! Her reflux has been reduced to basically a hiccup here and there- not sure if the SKJ helped, but I felt like I was doing something. in VA ________________________________ From: juliahosman <juliahosman@...> Sent: Mon, November 1, 2010 6:40:55 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Toddler and HCL Hi , I do make saurkraut but my daughter doesn't like how sour it is. Guest guest
Hi , Good idea. I find when I'm creative then things become easier. Tonight I took the saurkraut and mixed it with butter. My toddler ate the whole 1/2 cup. The butter didn't melt so I'm not sure I'll do the same recipe again but I also took another 1/2 cup of saurkraut and mixed it with a tablespoon of Nutritional Yeast and 3 egg yolks. It was delicious and well.....my daughter ate the whole thing. I think we're looking at the runs in the morning. :-( I'm so glad you brought up the saurkraut issue. I forgot about that. First, find out how many calories your daughter needs per day - search the internet for calculators that do this. Next, enter what you feed your daughter in one day into www.fitday.com. Scroll down to the bottom to the Pie Chart which gives percentages in calories so you can see the total number of calories, and the percentages of protein, fat and carbs. Then you can see where you need to increase or decrease protein, fat or carbs. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, We've been eating raw egg yolks but I haven't been making the egg drink. She asks for something to chew on when I give her blended foods but I'll see if she can get satisfied with pulverized food. I've noticed her urine has foating foam on top when she pees. It's subtle but I notice it. I don't have it at all. I went online and it said it could be excess protein in her urine and a sign of her kidneys not working. Oh my God! Guest guest
Hi , as you can see from Bee's message, the ratio of fat to protein and carb is massive! So most of my culinary ingenuity goes into getting the kids to eat loads of fat! Are you managing to do that ok? The company that does the little capsules of HCL with nothing else except 4 mg of pepsin(which is tiny compared to other brands) is International Nutrition, based in Catonsville, MD. (800)899.3413 Its not cheap though. Let me know if there's any thing else I can help with. Oh my God! +++Hi , Let me know how she does on all liquid and pureed foods. When you go online to search you get medical information and it can freak a person out since they don't explain normal body processes while healing or detoxifying. There's much more to understand about urine and detoxification processes than the medical field will reveal or admit to. Kidneys are one of the major organs involved in detoxification, so having some foam in the urine is normal. So please don't get concerned at all. Guest guest
Yes Bee!! It does freak me out when I look into symptoms on the internet. When I feed Hannah pureed food like the egg drink I think I remember that HCL isn't needed. Is that correct? Or would giving her one help her body digest it even more? Thanks Bee. I cried when you said not to worry about the foam in the urine. All the best,
Guest guest
HI Bee, Let me know how she does on all liquid and pureed foods. +++I needed that accountability. Thanks. So far I've made her your egg drink (forgot the sea salt). She said yuck. :-( Then I made a pudding out of lard, chicken, parsley, and olive oil. She ate 3 T. and seems satisfied. ++++I'm going to have to be incredibly creative to pull this off. If we do it for the full day I will consider it a huge accomplishment. Since she has digestive problems I think you should cook the cinnamon and nutmeg before adding it to the drink since spices also need their cell walls broken down like any other carbs. I've experimented with this, and this is how to do it: - Heat the water until it is steaming. - Pour a small amount in a small saucepan, and add the spices, stirring them well with a small whisk or fork until they are mixed. - Turn the heat on high on another burner, and add more water to the spice mixture and mix it well. - Put it on the burner. - Once it starts to boil, turn down the heat a little, and cook it for 4 minutes. It will be gelatin-like and gloppy like egg whites, which means the cell walls are broken down. - Pour it into the blender, which already has the eggs and fats in it. - Add more hot water to the level you can easily blend it without it spurting out the top of the blender. I'm so glad you are relieved about Hannah's foamy urine! It's sad that the medical industry scares people so badly. Luv & Hugs, Bee

Guest guest
Hi Bee, It's been TWO days since Hannah has been eating only pureed food. I can't believe it's going so well. Would giving her a HCL tablet be good right now or no? I'm also considering Yarrow an herb that has been used for ages. It's great for inflammation and Hannah has it chronically. I think it might help. It has the same component that white willow bark has...salicyclic acid. sp? Her joints also crack so I'm hoping all the good fat will repair what's been going on in them. Thanks Bee,

So, no I wouldn't try giving her HCl at this point. > > I'm also considering Yarrow an herb that has been used for ages. It's great for inflammation and Hannah has it chronically. All of the good fats are what is best for inflammation, along with all of the other nutrients of course. Just let all of the " proper nutrients " do their job without interference. > > Her joints also crack so I'm hoping all the good fat will repair what's been going on in them. +++That should improve too!
