Making broth and eating bones

Hi Bee,

I made bone broth the other day because it is something I haven't done yet. I

made it differently than the directions called for. I used 3 1/2-4 inch beef rib

bones and put them in my crock pot with a quart of water and 1/4 cup AVC. I let

it sit probably more than an hour and then put it on high for the rest of the

day. By evening I took the meat off the bones and I put the broth with bones on

low overnight. Come morning my bones were nice and soft and edible. I ate one. I

didn't drink any broth today because I ate a bone. Question 1. is making broth

this way okay? Question 2. Is eating marrow bones okay? Question 3. If I ate a

bone that is this size do I need to eliminate my calcium and/or calcium and

magnesium for the day?

thanks very much,

Heidi (Iowa)
