+++Hi ,

I have always felt there was too much " fear mongering " about eating fish and

seafoods, particularly by Dr. Mercola.

All bodies, including fish, chicken, cows and humans, detoxify themselves very

efficiently IF they get the nutrients their bodies are intended to have in order

to be healthy.

I have fish or seafood that aren't treated with preservatives like sulfites and

nitrates.

Bee, thanks for this comment. I completely agree and am glad to hear that

others feel that the mercury scare is overblown.

Bee,

Do you also eat Red meat daily as well as seafood? Since I've been on this diet

all I want to eat is Red Meat. I eat Steak almost everyday. My body just

craves it. Thanks, Gail (curlygirl)

+++Hi Gail,

I'm experimenting by having mostly fish and seafoods for now, but usually I have

red meat.

Hi Bee and others,

Here is an article that came out this morning on the pollutants in our water

affecting our fish http://www.naturalnews.com/029717_chemical_runoff_fish.html

If a company or entity was benefitting from scaring us from eating fish due to

toxins then it would make sense to me to question the scare but the alarms are

being rung by health advocates (The Health Ranger and Dr. Mercola).

Big sigh....

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

+++Hi ,

Of course the fish in that article are obviously sick, and couldn't be sold on

the market for consumers.

Bee,

That's what I don't know. Would those fish and others not be in our food

supply?

I was shopping in my favorite Asian store and looked around at all the Asians

there who were in line to buy the crab, lobster, fish, etc. Many had beautiful

wrinkle free skin and looked vibrantly healthy. Also many were old and trim and

had straight postures. I notice they buy lots of fish, meats with bones and

green leafy veggies.

I'm taking all this information to heart.

Thanks for being a part of this process.

+++Hi . The article below is about the Potomac River, and many inland

rivers are polluted, so that's why I recommend fish from the ocean - this is

from my article How to Successfully Overcome Candida:

" The safest sources of fish are fresh and wild-caught from the ocean, and not

from inland lakes, rivers or streams.

Fresh fish is not labeled thoroughly so it is wise to ask about the source of

the fish, i.e. from farm, lake or ocean, in order to find out whether it is

fresh, wild-caught ocean-going fish, or shell fish and fish roe (fish eggs) in

season from clean waters.

Good fish include Wild Alaskan or Pacific salmon, Summer Flounder, Croaker,

Haddock, Arctic Char, fresh sardines, shrimp, herring, and anchovies. Fresh

cold-water fish are also good, i.e. tuna, cod, haddock, herring, perch, and

snapper are also good since they spend their lifetimes in the open seas distant

from contaminated coastal waters.

Canned skipjack or albacore tuna are safer than canned bluefin or yellowfin

tuna. Small seafood, such as oysters, sardines, anchovies and shrimp are okay to

eat since they are small enough to have minimal contamination. Buy all canned

fish that is packed in olive oil or spring water.

Avoid fish species that stay in coastal waters, or from inland lakes, rivers or

streams, and those that consume near the top of the food chain, i.e. bluefish,

carp, catfish, striped bass, trout, etc. "

All the best, Bee
