Guest guest
Hi I'm . One year ago we stopped going to the Doctor and started really getting interested in my daughter's health. At the time she had chronic diarrhea and eczema. I started a traditional diet with her - Nourishing Traditions - soaking all grains, cooking from scratch, etc. In a matter of weeks her diarrhea was gone and her eczema was under control. Then, in the spring of this year her eczema started getting out of control and taking over her life. Emma (3-1/2 yrs.) stopped playing, sleeping, learning, and became impossible to take outside (sun sensitivity) take to play dates, etc. because all she would do was itch. She began having night terrors and would itch all through the night as well, so she was very tired during the day. We began seeing a nutritionist that put us on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I was familiar with the diet because we also did GAPS last year. I just feel like it doesn't have all the answers for us since we o.k. in the tummy. We've been on it 10 days and she's still itchy as we try to figure out what foods she does/doesn't agree with. She is crazy allergic to peanuts but also has been reacting to eggs on this diet (and carrots! - now I know why!). Her reaction is crazy itchy after mealtimes. I notice that broth helps with this. Zyrtec, too, but there is sugar in this, so this is when my brain starts spinning... The eczema, night terrors, irritability, paranoia, are her symptoms. I suspected candida one year ago, but since I saw progress in other areas, I let it go. Now I know that it's candida without a doubt. Anyway, I am really just looking for support here. I have so many things on my mind with all the books I've read. I wonder if I am in the right place (finally?) and if there are any other parents out there who have success stories related to eczema and candida. I need to figure out how to transition from SCD without losing it. I have been so frustrated this week (not feeling well myself because I have die-off as well and I have been cooking so much for kids I haven't been eating like I should)that I have already fell off the diet for 1 meal with kids and 2 with myself. I need to have a plan, resolve, and get it together! Help me get it together, please? Thanks for reading. in San
