Pyroluria & high histamine

Hi,

My son (Austin - 16 y.o.) and I have suffered for many years, especially with

mental issues. He has a Aspergers diagnosis. He has been to a D.A.N. doctor

years ago (defeat autism now). Also in 09 we went to Pfeiffer Treatment Center

in Warrenville, IL. We both are pyroluric, high histamine, undermethylators. The

Pyroluria is a genetic blood disorder. Because we have too many krytopyroles in

the blood they latch onto B6 and zinc and go out through the urine. Without b6

and zinc we could not produce seratonin, also zinc balances copper so we became

very toxic in copper.

To lower our histamine we are on methionine amino acid. For a year we did there

program with some results. They did not diagnose low thyroid but another

naturopathic doctor did and I started on a homeopathic and iodine. We're also

doing a lot of other supps - manganese, p5p, niacinamide, chromium, and many

many others.

Also I am RH neg. and have had the rhogam shot several times in my life, I got

the shot while 7 months pregnant with Austin. I feel this was why he is

aspergers. The rhogam shot is high in thomerisol (mercury). We were told that

some of us lack any enzyme that helps the body excrete heavy metal. That's why

some children end up autistic, add, adhd, etc. I also know that it's not just

the heavy metals in vaccines but other things like viruses and the other nasty

ingredients in those shots. Austin has had no vaccines.

We did not go back to Pfeiffer after a year but have just bought the supps and

along with Joan Larsons book Healing Depression Naturally I added more

aminos and supps. Pretty soon were taking so many. They do help get us through

the day but do not really get us well. My son is not having meltdowns and our

depression is better.

When I read your info on your site I decided not to do the iodine I had been

taking any longer. I had tried to give it up before but thought I was loosing my

mind. I had started doing coconut oil several weeks and this time when stopping

the iodine I was okay. I also stopped the other thyroid homeopathic. Also since

reading your info I've cut my son and I back on the supps not recommended by

you. We were doing tryptophan, l-glutamine several times a day and now only do

them 1-2x. Hopefully going off completely. The methionine is tough. I've lowered

our dose from 2000 mg. to 1000 mg. but can really feel it if not taken.

The B6, zinc and manganese I know are very necessary for our genetic problem

called pyroluria. They call it (pyroluria) a stress disorder because with high

copper, low zinc, low b6 you loose the ability to cope. Also you become depleted

in other minerals too. My body would shake at times. I would have meltdowns like

my son. I suffered depression, irritability, anger, severe brain fog. I have

seen these similar actions in my father and his mother (my grandmother).

My son Austin seemed so normal when born. He was sooo good. I nursed him to 2

years of age. About age 3 he started having meltdown. I could see he had some

attention problems. Also he'd been such a quiet boy, all of a sudden he started

talking constantly. If you haven't experienced that it is sooo very hard. He

can't just think things, he has to say them aloud. He says things that aren't

funny (but he thinks they are). Of course most kids don't like being around him

for very long. I've tried to teach him what to say and not to say but it is very

difficult. He doesn't get it - it's deficit. Also he gets hurt and offended. He

is sooo closed to normal so he is very hurt when he sees that others don't want

to be around him and he is not able to do the things others do.

At about age 7 he started losing his memory. He at age 4 had many chapters (not

just verses) memorized from the Bible. We did this as a family. He also started

reading at age 4. He was very science minded and one day after watching a PBS

program took some materials and made a barometer just like they did on the

program. His vocab and spelling were great until around age 7 this all started

to go. He would cry out " I can't remember " . Now a age 16 he has a severly poor

memory. It has been so very scary to watch this. Also I have audios of him

singing songs when he was about 4 y.o. and now he can't hear the notes (although

he tries so hard) nor keep timing.

Bee - would you suggest staying on the B6, zinc, manganese for our genetic

disorder - Pyroluria, maybe also the methionine for high histamine. Also, I was

going to do a neurotransmitter test with Neuroscience or metagenics lab for

Austin and I to see if with amino acids they could help his memory (and mine)

and his excessive talking problem.

Also my depression and Austin's is better but when still have the blahs most of

the time. Any thoughts from you Bee or anyone out there.

Also what should we do about heavy metals. Any suggestions.

I do intend to continue your program for myself. Austin is on coconut oil but I

was having so much die off on your diet I wanted to wait and get a little

stronger before starting Austin. He has been on so many (unsuccessful) protocols

over the years I am hoping to see success for myself before making him do

another. Or maybe reading the testimonies would help him, they encouraged me. I

do homeschool him so it does make it easier to monitor his food intake.

Thank you for hearing part of our life's story,

Cassandra Huffman
