Any suggestion is welcome. > +++Hi Anne, Don't be concerned about using oil on the whole surface, since stainless steel doesn't rust anyway. I've never had my stainless steel pots and pans rust and I've had them 53 years. What you'd want to keep oiled is the moving machine-type parts that are concealed, so that depends upon how your grinder is built. After cleaning the parts, ensure they are very dry, which is most important to avoid rust - use a hair blow dryer for concealed areas. I got my Mother's meat grinder, and she never used silicone oil (of course). Actually she didn't oil it, but made sure it was very dry before putting it away. My Dad oiled the moving parts that didn't touch food once in awhile with machine oil (maybe every 6 months), the same kind he used in her sewing machine's moving parts.
