I have been on the program myself for 6wks so I can relate to how bad she must feel. She vomited first thing this morning. If I have to chose something to make her eat, what should it be? And should I force her to eat at all if she is sick to her stomach? On the good side, this is a good confirmation that I am on the right track with her. > +++Hi Holly, What are you doing to detoxify your daughter? Guest guest
Sorry I did not give enough information. I meant to say I started her on your program. AS of Monday we have taken all carbs out of her diet. As a family we have been consuming lots of butter and coconut oil regularly over the last year. So I am just adding a bit more for her now. So for her, I give her a teaspoon in the morning and at dinner. She also gets a bit on her food. I will start vitamins tomorrow and clo. She been eating meats, veggies, fish, had 1 egg drink. She has been very under the weather all morning, but is perking up a bit now. The vomiting was not a surprise to me. When she has a fever, she always vomits (although there is no fever now). I understand that to be a cleansing reaction. She also has lots of tummy aches. She is prone to sinus issues, seasonal allergies (very bad this year) and craves carbs like crazy. I always have called her impulsive because she seems to grab food with no thought. She was my one child of 7 with whom I was a vegetarian during pregnancy. Thanks for any insight, Holly > > > > I began detoxing my 10 year old daughter on Monday. I have been on the program myself for 6wks so I can relate to how bad she must feel. It is very important carbs be gradually lowered - see Curing Candida, How to Get Started: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php Bee
Guest guest
I feel like the most horrible mother ever. This is terrrible. I didn't carefully read all this before I started her. When I started for myself, I had already done so much elimination of foods that I just dove into your program. I hope even though she is feeling bad it has been beneficial to her. Today she is better in her tummy, she has brain fog and a headache. It is day 4. She is eating pretty well. Luckily my kids love meat and veggies. How should I procede? Should I allow a bit of carbs now, or just move ahead since we are started? Our regular foods are always whole foods, loaded with fermented stuff and raw milk. Should I maybe allow some milk? She has already committed herself to the diet so maybe I should just go on. Do you think the worst is past? Feeling like crap, Holly > > > > > > Sorry I did not give enough information. Guest guest
Hi Holly, I don't have any advice for where you should go from here, but I wanted to encourage you not to feel so bad. Even though it was a mistake, your intentions were for your daughter's best interest. I don't think any permanent harm has been done and when this momentary discomfort passes she will be fine. When I was a young mother (many years ago), I thought the most healthy and cost efficient thing I could do for my family was a vegetarian diet. I tried very hard to feed them good, whole, organic foods, complete with home made whole grain bread, raw goat's milk, garden veggies, low fat, etc. After everything I could do to enhance my family's health, my little son (now 28) became ill and I didn't know what was wrong with him. I took him to the doctor and discovered that he was anemic and had a compromised immune system! The doctor said that he needed plenty of red meat and good fat, and that a vegetarian diet wasn't healthy for a growing boy! I felt terrible, just like you do, but with the proper adjustments, he recovered and is a healthy adult today. Please don't feel too bad. No human being is ever perfect, no matter how hard we strive to be. I am sure your little girl will weather this beautifully. I am glad that she is already recovering. Do you think the worst is past? > > Feeling like crap, > Holly > @@ Hi Holly, The only thing horrible or the mistake is not " try " . We all learn by our mistakes & successes. That's part of what life is about, Holly. Your children will thank you, someday, for your unwavering determination to learn how to give them the best nutrition and foundation for a healthy long life. It takes guts to stand up against conventional thinking and take back your Life and Health for You and the ones you love. It may not be easy now, but when its all said and done, you'll know, ... it was worth it ! So, pick yourself up, Holly, and dust yourself off, you are doing a fantastic job ! Now, as Bee stated, you may have eliminated the carbs too fast. Therefore, even though she benefited, do slow down and yes, do allow some carbs back into the diet. Let her gradually change over to this diet so she does not experience too drastic of a healing/detox reaction, unnecessarily. Eliminate one group of carbs a week until she is fully on the diet... i.e Fruits - week #1 , Breads & Grains - week # 2 , Dairy ... etc. Furthermore, it should be noted, one cannot avoid all healing/detox reactions. This will happen when normally progressing on this program. If you progress slowly, she should be fine. Of course, she will have her good & bad days. However, that is normal, but as she progresses on this program, more good than bad :-] Journey Onward, Ed group moderator
