Guest guest
Hello Bee and everyone! I've been on the diet for about 2 months now. I feel much better. I was underweight before and now I've gain a few pounds. I really do look much better. Even my family has commented on that. I never thought that fats are so important. I've been plagued with post nasal drip for many years now but it seems to have gotten worse on this diet. I can feel a lump down in my throat that goes away when i drink something but comes back a few minutes later. I realize that it could be a detox reaction but I want to make sure that is not a lump growing in there. I would appreciate any advice on this. Thank you Angeline
Guest guest
Hi Angeline. I too get a 'lump' in my throat from time to time. Although I cannot obviously diagnose what it going on with you, I would hazard a guess that it is the same thing as mine. It is to do with the stomach and quite likely a hernia. If you have gas in the stomach it will often displace the diaphragm and the sphincter muscle and 'crink' the esophagus. It feels like a lump. My Mum had this and had an investigation but they couldn't find anything. That is because they were looking for a lump or growth rather than a 'crink'. Poor love, it used to drive her mad. I wish I had known back then what was going on with her and that she was gluten intolerant and probably Celiac as I now know that she had all the symptoms for it. I would have got her on to Bee's diet pretty pronto. Drinking - or eating something will temporarily pull the stomach back down and relieve the pressure, but then when the stomach has emptied it will go back up. I sometimes have a drink and then jump lightly to try and make it go back down. I have been on the diet for 4 months. Gas and bloating was a big issue for me and it has improved, but now and again it comes back, especially if I have a little fruit or carb other than the non-starchy veg. Even one strawberry can trigger it off! Have you ever been aware of having a hernia? As it can trigger things like acid reflux, it is common for people to have them but not realise it. I have found that sometimes the gas has been stuck down there, and it is not until I can get it up that the 'crink' will go away. Before I started the diet, I had so much gas that it was displacing the sphincter so much I was having a job to actually get the gas up! Some nights I would have to get out of bed and jump up and down every 10 minutes or so to try and release the gas! Thank goodness, since i have been on the diet that has improved a lot. As i say, I still get the odd times, but they are very mild in comparison to how they used to be. I do have to make sure I stick very closely to Bee's diet and cheat as little as possible (never would be even better!). It's actually really good to find someone who is getting the same symptom! At least I know it's not just me... Ali. > > Hello Bee and everyone! > I've been on the diet for about 2 months now. I feel much better. I was underweight before and now I've gain a few pounds. Guest guest
Hi Angeline, This might be something you want to get checked out by a medical doctor. Guest guest
Does the lump come and go normally Angeline, or is it there all the time and only relieved when you drink? Do you get gas and bloating? It might be best to get it checked out, but it could be kinking of the esophagus, especially if you have had a hernia in the past. Guest guest
Thank you for your reply. I've never had a hernia. If feels like thick mucus. It gets worse right after i eat. When i drink something, if feels like the mucus is going down with the water. But i feel it again just a few minutes later. Since you've had post nasal drip for years your body will be retracing each and every episode with it while it is healing itself - search for Retracing on my website. Since that lump comes and goes, is a detoxifying symptom, which can involve glands swelling up in that area. If the lump didn't change at all and stayed there all the time, then you should have it checked out. Cheers, Bee
Guest guest
I don't know if i have a hernia but it feels like there a lot of thick mucus coming from my nose down to my throat. And i think it gets stuck. In any case, i'm going to have doctor check it. Thank you for your reply. Angeline > > > > Hello Bee and everyone! > > I've been on the diet for about 2 months now. They are trying to help you, but see it from their own perspective. I replied to you this morning, and said I didn't think it needed checking out since it comes and goes.
