If it were my younger kids, I'd call the shots. But he is near on an adult and quite opinionated. He respects the credentials of the dentist and says all I've got is the internet.... > > We're just short on time, here. Of course, the dentist won't extract the tooth until the infection is down. +++Hi . Since the tooth is the " cause " of the natural inflammation/ infection his body created, trying to get rid of the infection is treating the " result " and not the " cause. " This article about Inflammation explains it best: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/nature3.php +++Since he is 17 he should be willing to do some reading for his own benefit, so get him to read that article. > I looked at what Ed suggested (the garlic tea, the use of oil on the tooth, even drinking bone broth and the egg drink), and my kid just won't do it. I made him a modified egg drink last night but I put too much cinnamon/nutmeg in it for his taste and he was disgusted. I am so willing to make it again, even more bland, but I doubt he will try it. +++Natural treatments Ed suggested may assist but I don't think they will get rid of infection until the " cause " is removed. But it won't hurt him to try at least one of them. +++He could have lots of eggs anyway he likes them cooked, along with meats like steaks, cooked vegetables he likes, and have him slather lots of butter on meats and vegetables. However, unless he eliminates toxins and damaging foods like sugars, starches, etc. his infection will continue. +++Sorry, but your son may not have any choice, since antibiotics do suppress infections well, so he can have the tooth extracted.
