toddler hernia surgery?!

Hello,

Our Naturopath doctor is having my toddler Sebastian get an ultrasound for a

suspected hernia in his testicle area.

We are very concerned for it possibly " needing surgery " and the anesthesia

involved.

If he has to get surgery what could we do to combat the use of anesthesia before

or after?

He is still nursing and him and I are not entirely healed from candida from

birth on.

Very concerned,

I don't know if it would be different because of the hernia location,

but my son, as an infant, had a belly button hernia. The naturopath

treated it with homeopathic medicine and that completely fixed it. No

surgery. The remedy worked fairly quickly. Within 2 weeks if my

memory serves.

+++Hi ,

Often they will say he needs surgery when he doesn't, since they have budgeted

quotas to meet.

Also proper nutrition has been known to heal hernias, if they aren't too

serious. If that area is bulging out too much, causing pain when he strains

himself, he may need surgery so it doesn't get worse, since nutrition takes

time.

They can do it with a local anesthetic, but with children that can be difficult.

If he has to have it, you need to ensure he is getting proper nutrition prior to

surgery, and after, and also help his body detoxify the anesthetic with Epsom

salt baths. Refuse antibiotics.

After surgery he should be on nutrient-rich liquid foods, like breastmilk, bone

broths, soup, Bee's egg drink, etc. He should also be taking supplements for

his age according to this article:

Thank you Bee.

At this point it looks like, instead of hernia in our toddler boy, it is

" hydrocele " or " fluid build up " around his teste.

Have you heard of this or had experience in such?

Would you think this would heal on its own with proper nutrition?

Much appreciated in you easing new parents minds.

+++Hi ,

If fluid is building up around his teste his body has created it for a very good

reason, so it is best to let Nature run its course and not tamper with it at

all.

Dear Bee,

My name is and my son Sebo and I have been pursuing healthy eating for

about 8 months now......for the most part.

At this point though, we've been given confirmation of needing to bare down with

BETTER NUTRITION, because of my son's hernia surgery next month. Previously I

posted about this, and it is apparent he has to have surgery for Inguinal

Hernia/ Hydrocele (fluid) in his scrotum.

You told me earlier to bulk up the nutrition and I wondered if there is any

other advice for before and after the surgery, besides no antibiotics which we

already requested?

He does have to a local anesthesia and they will put him out with Tylonel

codene. What are you thoughts about those two?

He is breastfeeding, does he need extra supplements himself or just through

breastfeeding. Extra vitamin C before and/or after surgery? He is almost 2

years old.

Sorry for all the questions, we are nervous parents with this our first baby.

Much appreciated -

+++Hi . Are you being told the surgery is important to do right away

because his condition is life-threatening? If it isn't, you could wait longer

before getting the surgery so your son is more healthy and able to handle the

operation better.

+++I wouldn't have said " bulk up " on nutrition, however both of you should be

following the program completely and accurately - see my articles for Babies &

Children.

+++For the pain involved in surgery he may " have to " take the Tylenol, but on

this program his body should be able to detoxify it okay.

+++See supplements and doses for Babies & Children:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/baby.php

+++You should be giving him 1/3rd of adult doses now, which is about 1,320 mg of

vitamin C daily. But start him on lower doses, divided up and taken with

breastmilk and/or foods, and slowly increase it so his body can become saturated

with it without getting loose stools.

+++After that, gradually increase doses until he gets loose stools, and then

give him a little bit less (which doesn't cause loose stools) at least 5 days

before and 7 days after surgery. Then gradually lower the higher dose to 1,320

mg per day again.

The best in health, Bee

Hi

My son had that same surgery under general anesthetic when he was 3. He was sick

to his stomach from the anesthetic immediately after but had no other problems

from the surgery.

It really is a tiny incision and that surgery is done on an outpatient basis so

I wouldn't think antibiotics would be an issue at all.

Good luck.
