Hammer toe deformity

Hello,

I'm in my second week of this program and doing quite well. I've had a problem

with my foot for a few months now. It's felt like my socks were bunched up

under my toes. Then three weeks ago I had a long day of shopping with lots of

standing and that foot was so very painful that I stayed off of it for three

days. Yesterday I saw my doctor who had a xray done which showed I have Hammer

toe deformity and she's referring me to a podiatrist.

When she was talking about what might be done she said that he could probably

give me a shot to reduce the swelling. I forgot the name of the substance that

would be injected but in learning Bee's approach I'm wondering if the

inflammation is OK for my foot healing or if I'd be better off following the

podiatrists directives to avoid the ultimate " solution " which would be surgery

to snip tendons and such. Or, are there other alternatives?

I've never been fond of the medical model or it's promoters (except in mending

bones and repairs after accidents) but I've been " hard put " to find much of an

alternative (after trying numerous naturopaths). Bee's approach to healing

based in the Weston Price guidance sounds so true to me that I don't know how to

deal with the upcoming appointment with this specialist.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what to do and/or what not to do?

Thanks again for the consideration that has been given to my questions,
