Guest guest
Thanks I was in and Noble yesterday and happened to find a travel book on Costa Rica that discussed plastic surgery in that country. I didn't realize how famous they were for it. The book mentioned how clean and up-to-date the hospitals were in San and also talked about a Dr. Fournier(I think that is the right spelling) who is supposed to be the best. He was trained in the US and has great credentials. I may look up his website too. They also talked about living with families and learning to speak Spanish while you were recovering--that sounds pretty interesting, too. But how do you find out if the family is reputable and clean and sanitary? Just something more to worry about I guess. Maybe I'll let you try it first. Heeheehee Or the other choice is to go down there and do it together--that would be kind of fun, don't you think? Guest guest
Penny IF you get his web site shoot it to me, so far I've been checking out the Rosenstock Center. I like the idea of going to costa rico because my husband could do things that are fun versus taking care of me all the time. And I wouldn't be scared because I knew a nursing staff would be close. But hopefully the first week he would stay near and he could do is sight seeing the second week.
Guest guest
I spent a few months in Costa Rica right after I finished grad school. They have a single payer health care system for most people, but there is a thriving free market health care system as well. One of the first things they showed me on the tour of San was their modern hospital and imaging facilities. I stayed in a home in the suburbs while I was there and the suburban homes there are as nice as any homes in the States. The only thing I didn't like down there was the extensive use of " inline " water heaters. Those things always scare me with the wires being so close to the water. Greg P. Guest guest
First of all~It's about gene's, but with the band you seem to lose weight a little slower, which gives your body time to catch up and your skin with excerise and such~our skin shrinks up too. At least mine some what has. Their were times that the scale didn't move, but my clothes were becoming looser and that was when my skin was catching up. Hope this helps and of course this is just my opinion. I'm sure others have their own opinions. This is just mine. Guest guest
Everyone is different. You will have some lose skin but the extent of it is depending on your physical activity and skin tone. No two people are alike. I have some sags and lumps--not so pretty---but the people who see it that closely love me anyway--that's what a nice hubby and daughter are for. Guest guest
I agree with ....the only person who sees my sagging skin saw me naked when I weighed 250 pounds and he loved me then, too! My sweet husband! You know, there is a great part of me that wishes I had the guts to get the excess removed but I haven't gotten to the point yet where I am not scared of that procedure. Plus, I am 45 years old. I am happily married and am not one of those people who feels a great need to do anything drastic to improve my self image anymore. I can cover the sagging skin with clothing and I am lucky that the places where I sag the worst are going to be covered anyway! No bikini for this babe but I never wore one anyway! I can wear tank tops and not worry too badly about bat wings...they could be much worse. I don't wear short shorts so the skin on my thighs don't show. I don't wear shirts that are too short or jeans that are too low so my belly doesn't show. As opposed to having the skin stretched tight over an overweight body, I say, SAG ON SKIN, SAG ON!!! I will tell you this. I work out. No, let me rephrase that....I work out ALOT! I am a runner, a swimmer, and a biker. I have begun the ardous task of training for a triathlon. I have been running road races for a little over a year but wanted to add more to my regimine. Running much further than a 5K caused me to dislike running so I didn't want to just add running. Training for a triathlon just fits me better. I am training to swim 1/2 a mile, bike 20 miles, and then run a 5K (3.1 miles) one behind the other. If I wasn't so physically active at this point in my life, I imagine the skin issues would be much, much worse. In training for the triathlon, I was really intimidated by wearing a racing type of swim suit in front of other people due to my thighs. Well, that problem was solved when I did a little research and found that women in triathlons wear cycling shorts (tight fitting/down to just above the knee) for the swim, the cycling, and the running. Problem solved!!! I am now proud to don my tight, long shorts at the YMCA and I am completely comfortable. So, again....SAG ON, SKIN, SAG ON! Guest guest
Jenni, You are awesome! You go girl. These are my 2 cents worth on what you said. I am scheduling my sleeve for August. I am so excited! 6 yrs ago I had cancer and had to go in for surgery so i decided to have a tummy tuck at the same time and a breast reduction 6 months after that. the tummy tuck was brutal. so much pain. I know i did things backwards, but at he time i suffered with infections so bad in my belly roll. A part of me am glad I did it, but wow, it took me over a yr to feel good. So, I do agree with everyone is different. If its not harming anything than why go thru the suffering. I just love your spirit Jenni. I cant wait to bet that active again! Guest guest
Thanks, Jana. The key will be to get moving as soon as Dr. Aceves says you can. I had to wait 5 weeks to be on a regular exercise routine so I did exactly that. I joined Curves at exactly 5 weeks out of surgery and started going 5 days a week. I did that for a solid year because I was so uncomfortable with the idea of working out where men would be. After that year, I had lost 100 pounds and I no longer cared if men were around me working out or not so I quit Curves and started back at the YMCA. Then, I started running. And, I haven't quit yet. Exercise is truly the key to successful weightloss and management. It helps the sagging skin, the build up of muscle, the heart, the lungs but, MOST OF ALL, it helps the spirit! I FEEL so much better when I exercise! I never understood that before because when you are overweight, exercise just plain hurts. Exercising that first year was a bit torturous, I must admit but once I lost so much weight it just became easier to do. And speaking of exercise, I must close this now because I've got a few miles to put in this morning! Guest guest
Yes, I do. DNR at www.dnrsite.com has a product called Slender. You pour some of the liquid in a tup of warm water and soak for a half hour. Guest guest
HI BETSY, ABOUT THE DNR BODY SOAK. WHICH ONE DO YOU USE? DID IT HELP WITH CELLULITE . CAN YOU JUST GIVE A BRIEF NOTE ON THE RESULT YOU ARE GETTING. Guest guest
Hi, I have used the COF soak for removal of heavy metals and chemicals, snd it has helped with a lot of my problems. I have also used and still use the NERVOUS system soak, LIVER soak, ENDOCRINE soak, ELECTROCARDIO soak, RESPIRATORY soak, BLUE soak (for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue), and have even used the CANCER soak to get out radiation from when I had a C-Scan, and not to mention all the x-rays from this chiropractor who x-rayed the living daylights out of me. I have a lot of issues! If I would have been given iodine and the supplements that you're supposed to take with it when I was a child, I don't think I would have developed so many problems. I had tried so many diets and supplements, and some things did work for a while, but then I would get worse. When I started to used the DNR body soaks and started to get toxins out, I realized that my liver, kidneys, and lungs were all jammed up and I hadn't been detoxing anything for a long time. Everything was stuck in my body. I was in a lot of pain, my chronic fatigue kept getting worse and worse, I couldn't eat very many different foods, and the list goes on. So the soaks started to get stuff out and also increase my vitality. I started to be able to eat and sleep. It's been a long road, but I'm picking up speed on improvement since I started taking the iodine. Especially since I increased my dose to 50 mg. I may need to increase to 75 mg. I'm not sure how one can tell if they can or should handle more, but I am no longer afraid to try. To tell you the truth, I can't say if the soaks help with cellulite. I will check my thighs tomorrow in the daylight and see if I can see any difference. I have heard that dry skin brushing is good for that. Have you ever tried that? I guess it would be a lymph issue. Guest guest
I second dry skin brushing. And also eliminating all bad fats from your diet, but I guess nobody here eat bad fats. Once I stopped eating spreads and switched to butter and did dry skin brushing + work out - no more cellulites > > Does anyone here know of anything that will shrink or tighten up loose > skin. Guest guest
I checked this morning to see where I was with my cellulite, and, no, the soaks I've been using haven't helped it. I've been really thin for a long time, and have gained a few pounds recently, but it should not have turned to cellulite. When I get more energy, I'm going to have to work on that. Guest guest
Diane, I went through the big time hair fall out when my thyroid first went bad on me.By the hand fulls. Then when I went through the cancer stuff it REALLY fell out. Not bald but scalp showing everywhere. Now I have to keep cutting it. It is growing like it had not done in years and grew well past half way down my back until I whacked some of it off. It started to do so after I got over the cancer. BUT my nails are or were like tissue paper. I think they are getting better now since the iodine. Hard to tell as they seem to take longer to see good results than hair. So keep up the faith I think your hair will come back. I had so many short hairs around my forehead which made me crazy until I realized they were new hairs coming in and not old hairs breaking off. You can no longer see my scalp.I have baby fine hair but it is thick. Now if it would turn back to the red it was and I hated when I was a kid and would die for now. Not DYE. Heheheheh It was natural curly and after the cancer stuff it grew in straight as a string. Now waves are coming back. Funny how your hair and nails tell so much about your health. The skin thing is a shock to me because it has been over 40 years since my skin looked normal. Always hated it. Ashamed of it. No more. Now if I just did not have so MUCH of that nice skin. :^(((ChrisFrom: diane sambrick <sambrick_5@...>iodine Sent: Saturday, August 1, 2009 6:59:39 PMSubject: Re: Skin I, too, have noticed incredibly soft skin after taking detoxified iodine and Prolamine separately and together. Is it as good as lugals and iodoral? Do you have to take both the Prolamine and detoxified iodine? Dry flaky no matter how much lotion. I know it can be a sign of Hypothyroid and other health problems.I used to take Synthroid but quit four years ago. just stopped taking it. It never really seemed to help all that much.I am not exactly sure when I started this group and the iodine. A few months ago at least. I just noticed my skin is suddenly as smooth and soft as can be. No more dry flaky looking stuff. It looks soft and normal!!! Yippieee. I was on the 50MG Iodoral and some Adrenal support. And one capsule Flax seed oil daily. I dropped the Iodoral dosage down to 25 MG. My heart was pounding too hard at 50MG and it scared me. At 25MG I seem fine. I know 50 is recomended.Anyway I have not been tested for anything. Nothing before has helped my skin. This is a dramatic change. A GOOD change.
