Guest guest
and then with what you find there you may have to do some detective work inquiring, especially in areas where raw milk is under fire from the authorities. Presenting your inquiries in such a way that it is clear that you are a legitimate interested customer could help too. Another strategy I've had luck with is going up to the door when I spot cows or goats and asking. If they don't they might know someone. Guest guest
There are a couple of farms in the area that I have been meaning to stop at to see if they " know anyone " with raw milk. We get our veggies from our local CSA and some from the farmer's market. I've found a source for organic fertilized eggs and for raw honey. You'd think ONE of those folks might know someone, but not so far. I haven't given up yet, though! --------- Re: Raw Milk Did you check www.realmilk.com for someone in your area? -- April On Thu, Jun 19, 2008 at 2:55 PM, <mishlnaz@...> wrote: > I just have to say that I'm really envious of any of you who have access > to raw milk. Guest guest
What you should do is form a group of people in your area that want raw milk and pay one person from the group to do the drive to get all the gallons. It would be split between everyone and not so much of a financial burden. That is how we do it here. Every 2 weeks we get our milk, that way, the drive is only done twice a month. I get 5 gallons each order. The driver comes to my house and everyone from the group meets him here. Mirth www.AustinAutoSigns.com Austin, Texas 512-947-8870 512-287-5320 Watch The Meatrix! Guest guest
We also drink raw milk - cow and goat when we can get it. It is delicious and so full of the enzymes and friendly bacteria our guts need for proper digestion! We make kefir with commerical goat milk becuase the grains get stuck in the raw as no one is home during the day to shake them up. Thanks Steph, for sharing your mother's treatment success with ut - it is truly inspiring! I was at Whole Foods today and told the cashier to check out: thinkbeforeyoupink.com - breastcancerchoice.org is a much better place for cancer research than any of the places touting pink! So many of those who sponsor "cancer research" are the very companies who are profiting from cancer treatment, or making products that contribute to the formation of cancer in our bodies. Natural News has been exposing those companies for what they are - and it isn't pretty. Iodine is a much better treatment, with the supporting nutrients and therapies than any chemo! There are much better ways to beat cancer than with poisons and radiation that also kill healthy cells. Guest guest
To me that doesn't sound as if the milk is very fresh. I get my milk the same day it comes from the cow and it lasts a good two weeks before it starts to taste even a teeny tiny bit off and even then it's drinkable for another week before it starts to taste sour and I start to make cottage cheese with it, cook with it, etc. Goat's milk, on the other hand, starts to taste a bit stronger after 3 or 4 days and while I can drink it for up to a week as is, my kids prefer that I make yogurt with it. Water buffalo milk only holds up for about 6 days, but it freezes and thaws very well (probably due to the 10% butterfat content and the fact that it is naturally homogenized) so I automatically freeze half of it when I get it. The man at the health food store said that is okay for making kefir, since it will sour any way. Can that be right? Thanks, Lydia ------------ --------- --------- --- Does that make sense to you? Of course not. Kefir grains have to be fed and if the lactose is already gone or going away because the milk is old, they won't have much to eat and I doubt if you will get the taste you want. Guest guest
I'd find a new source for raw milk if I were you. The raw milk I buy stays fresh tasting for 10-14 days. Guest guest
Hi I have been cheating, having raw milk, but have turmeric and cardamon as it boils quick. The ayurveda doctor in town says the spices will keep candida away (?). To be honest raw milk has literally saved my life, I cant eat anything - meats wont digest - rice and vegetables are OK - I know not suppose to have rice but use plently of spice is this ok? Thanks
