i use to have that pretty badly on my upper arms as well. mine has faded over

the years, (so, time is one factor i think) and also my dermatologist gave me an

alpha hydroxy lotion to try.

Skin Care

Does anyone out there know anything about Keratosis pilaris? It's this

awful bumply looking skin on the upper arms(in my case). I've always

had it, but since I started working out it's gotten worse. When I do

my first set of bi curls, my upper arms turn flaming red and start

itching. The dermatologist says there's nothing you can do about it,

but I wondered if anyone had any ideas. I'm willing to try anything.

I have keratosis pilaris as well. Have had it all my life. My

dermatologist recommended a lotion called Amlactin. It's not a

prescription but they usually carry it behind the pharmacy counter at

walmart. It didn't make the bumps go away completely but I did notice

an improvement in the appearance of the skin. But of course, as soon

as I stopped using the lotion it went back to the way it was. I had

the opposite experience from you, I think it's improved since I

started working out instead of getting worse. Some people recommend

using a loofa when you're in the shower and scrubbing it every day.

Basically it's just due to your skin not sloughing off old cells like

it should. My mom had it too but hers went away once she had kids.

So I think that it is also maybe hormone related. Anyway, that's just

my 2 cents! Marci ;)

I have those bumps - my dermatologist gave me a cream that " thins the

skin " in the area. I used it for awhile, but the idea kind of scared

me so I stopped. The only time they've ever gone away was during the

five years I was a vegetarian. Interesting.

That is interesting--I've been a vegetarian for the past 13 years and so far

it hasn't helped mine, darn it. I've read though that it is not diet

related... But who knows for sure.

I just went to the dermatologist last week for acne and asked about

bumps on my upper arms just like you describe. He said it was

Keratosis and told me to get amlactin. It's an over the counter

cream, but drug stores keep it in the pharmacy area, so you need to

ask for it. He said that it won't get rid of it altogether, but it

will decrease the amount of bumps over time. I still haven't gotten

it, but plan on getting it this week!!!!!! Oh...he also said that

getting keratosis is a genetic trait and that it's passed down to

50% of your offspring...I thought that was interesting!

these bumps that you talk about...are they a lot like acne? I have some on my

arms that get white heads just like face acne and of course I mess with them and

they become red and irritated.

I have had this condition since childhood. All 3 of my kids have it as well - my

son only a little bit though. I didn't know about the cream you mentioned so I

will have to get some to try it. What has worked the best for me is exfoliation

and heavy moisturizers, body oil actually - AND self-tanning.

Keratosis Pilaris is not like acne in the sense that the 'bumps' do not get

whiteheads and they don't hurt or itch. They are just ingrown hairs for the most

part. I suppose they could possibly get infected if picked at but mine never

have and I have a pretty severe case. The bumps started out on the backs of my

arms and tops of the thighs as young as 4 or 5 years old, and over time went

down to the tops of my forearms and a bit on my jawline. But, like I said, I am

able to control the look and feel of my skin quite a lot with exfoliation, body

oil and self tanner.

Hi

I've use the CO as a moisturizer but I really

prefer to eat it. When I do, the CO actually

comes to the outside of the skin. I could

see it especially on my arms.

I also like putting a teaspoon of CO in my

bath. Your skin looks and feels like silk.

I don't get a bathtub ring because I use

the Miracle 2 Regular Soap as a bubble

bath. This Soap also draws toxins from

the body.

If you want to see a shiny tub, this Soap

will do it for you. It makes everything

shiny.

I like the CO from Uri International. The

price is competative with other top quality

oils and you will like the quality.

www.uriinternational.com/raworganicfoods

The best price for the Miracle 2 Soap is at...

www.miracle2network.com/rejuvenate

I represent both companies. Call or email me

for more information, if desired.

I use it all over my body, especially my face. It takes only a tiny amount

and goes a long way. In the winter I love to rub it into my feet and put on

socks at night. My feet are as soft as a babies bottom!

Yes, especially use it on my face after washing.

Just a little. It's not greasy even though I tend to have oily skin.

My daughter uses it for breakouts and blemishes. It dries them up.

Marsha, I checked it out and it is very little

difference and they don't pay you a cent if

you tell a friend about the products. All the

profit goes into their pocket. With my

company, I get a small commission when I

refer someone to them.

I don't make a killing selling these products

but I do make enough so that they end up

costing me nothing. I couldn't do that with

Miss Daisy.

If I worked harder at it I would make more

money but I tend to be lazy :)) I expect that

one day when I least expect it, someone with

a large customer base will join up with me

and will keep me in the money for a long

time. :)) What a beautiful thought to be

financially free. Aaahhh! :)) I wish that for

you all, too.

www.miracle2network.com/rejuvenate

By the way, my company has developed a

product on which clinical trials have been

done. We hear from many Diabetics that it

has reduced their blood sugar in many cases

to normal within 90 days or less. Many report,

after a blood test, that their bad cholesterol has

gone down and the good cholesterol has come

up to where they should be. We've also had

reports from people with other illnesses that by

using this product, they have become free of

other diseases, especially those induced by

mycotoxins.

This product is called the Body Rejuvenator.

Check it out on the website > >

Please note disclaimer >> I don't make any claims

and am simply sharing a brief summary of good

reports from other people about the Body Rejuvenator.

I or the company do not diagnose, treat, prevent or cure

Everyday for the pat 2 years since I discovered the virtues of Coconut oil..

Great results... I even use it as Deodorant..

It takes a while to be absorbed by my skin though... It could be different for

you.

I've been using coconut oil on my skin for several years and I even put

a few drops on the ends of my hair because my hair tends to be very dry.

One of my cats loves coconut oil, so I let her have all she wants out

of the cheap kind I use on my skin and hair. If its good for us, I

figure it must be good for her too.

Hi Patty

I think I saw somewhere that Coconut Oil is

antifungal. If that is so, CO is the perfect

thing for your scalp and hair to keep dandruff

away since it is thought to be a fungus.

I remember years ago when I first learned of

natural means for health, I would read about

a supplement or something like kelp and I'd

go and buy it. I kept doing that until I was

taking more and more supplements. I had a

number of small problems that would have

become big problems if I had not done that.

One of the first things to leave me was the

dandruff. Another was psoriasis on my arms

by my elbows. There were a lot of other little

things that stopped plaguing me.

The biggest benefit I got from supplementing

was that I am still alive after years of heavy

smoking ...which I quit 9 years ago. God gave

me a miracle with that and it hard to believe

I don't even miss it. I love Him. It was He

who steered me to the supplements. Without

them, I would never have survived this long.

I am now over 50 and I take no prescriptions

drugs and have good health.

How did I get onto that from talking about

CO and hair. :))

Hello,

I have purchased " organic " top quality health food resourced skin care products

and used them after bathing on my arms, hands, legs, feet, face and neck. I've

been checking the website for alternatives and coconut oil is listed for rashes,

etc. Is good olive oil useful for dry skin?

Also, I'm wondering what to take my massage person to use on my skin for my next

massage. She uses a combination of oils that I probably shouldn't put on my

skin.

This is a small problem compared to the list I'm dealing with but one that I

think could be addressed quite simply.

Thanks in advance for your consideration and response,

+++Hi ,

Yes, extra virgin olive oil is great for the skin too, but depending upon the

skin it may not smell as nice as coconut oil.

Take either unrefined coconut or extra virgin olive oil for your massage, or mix

them half and half.

All the best, Bee
