Guest guest
My 15 year-old son has what I think is ringworm. He had a similar spot on his neck last year, and antifungal cream started to heal it almost immediately. I feel strongly that's what it is, and now it's quickly spreading to other parts of his body (i.e., face, neck, hands, arms). I am assuming this is sufficient confirmation that there is a significant systemic candida infection going on, despite a negative candida lab test. In any event, I will take him to a doctor if necessary, but feel he will immediately be put on an antifungal such as Diflucan or Nystatin? I am not comfortable with Diflucan because he has health problems and the liver implications concern me tremendously, but what about Nystatin, if it comes to that? Is it relatively safe? And is it pretty much the same with all antifungals of this sort, that it will control the yeast temporarily, but it can/will come back with a vengeance later? I know it is time for a candida diet. But I have put tea tree oil on all the spots. I imagine I can use whole garlic by mouth, or grapefruit seed extract. But I am hoping the tea tree oil does the trick. I have also started Candi-Gone by mouth (not my preference, but what I had on hand). He is itching and distressed, so I would like to help him properly from the get-go. Any and all suggestions would really be appreciated. Many thanks! Diane
