Guest guest
> @@ Snip > > I am a nursing mother to an 8 month old, and after about 5 months of successful problem-free nursing I started having recurrent plugged ducts and a few bouts of mastitis. I attributed it to oversupply, but also my Naturopath said it's systemic candida and food allergies (wheat, corn, sugar). I've been off of all sugar, wheat, corn, dairy for 7 weeks now. My question tonight is that lactation consultants tell me to take granulated soy lecithin for recurring plugged ducts...I am very conflicted about whether I should use it or not with a candida problem. > > Can you share your thoughts on why soy lecithin is not suitable for candida overgrowth? I know it's a processed byproduct of soybeans...and I've heard that acetone is used to extract it from the bean, but what else about it? I don't have a known allergy to soy. @@ Snip @@ Hi , Soy should be used next to rarely to NOT at all regardless if you have Candida or not! Soy use in regards to allergy is irrelevant. Read on ! Soy contains harmful substances which are natural poisons or " anti-nutrients. " Soybeans are also high in phytic acid which can block the absorption of essential minerals - calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and especially zinc - in the intestinal tract. " Some of soy's anti-nutrients inhibit the action of enzymes needed for protein digestion, which are " not " deactivated during ordinary cooking and can produce serious gastric distress, reduced protein digestion and chronic deficiencies in amino acid (proteins) uptake. Eating as little as 30 grams (about 4 tablespoons) of soy per day can result in hypothyroidism [underactive thyroid function] with symptoms of lethargy, constipation, weight gain and fatigue. Soy at at dietary levels, can prevent ovulation and has been linked to cause blood clots, enlargement and pathological conditions of the pancreas, thyroid malfunction and other diseases, including cancers. , you may read the article I reference, below. You may also want to forward the article to your lactation consultants, Naturopath or whomever else is involved with whom you consult for support. They need to revise their information. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal13.php#a27 Your welcome, . Hope the aforementioned info was of assistance.
