, You might want to get some of Bruce Fife's books. Here is a

start.

www.qualityfirst.on.ca is the only source of the cold process

centrifuged coconut oil worldwide. They have a patent on the process

and supply all retailers with the product. Virgin oil from India

(found at www.wildernessfamilynaturals.org) and coconutoil-online

are the same oil. Tropical Traditions states that they use fresh,

organic coconuts processed with no chemicals or high heat. They use

a wet-milling cold process method of extration. I am getting this

from my notes and invite anyone to correct me if I am wrong.

I have used all these oils and love each one.

coconut oil. This type of coconut oil is produced without the use of any

chemical or any foreign body. It could be produced with heat or no heat

application.

Hydrogenated oil could be vegetable or coconut oil processed with the use of

hydrogen to allow it to have longer shelf life. This now is proven to cause the

arteries to get clogged due to its stickiness (it clings on the walls of

arteries).

from meat immediately to avoid contaminations; Proper room temperature if using

fermentation process; frequency of removal of separated water; Time of

fermentation process; Scooping of oil; further processing to remove moisture.

Removal of moisture is very important because moisture left on the oil can turn

the oil rancid. Even good centrifuged oil, if there is moisture in it, would

turn bad. I've seen it happen.

fresh. An 8 oz glass of very fresh coconut milk would give you the daily

requirement of coconut oil. Coconut milk is easier to take than the oil. It is

almost tasteless. You have to ingest it as soon as you can to avoid separation

of water.

According to ER4YT, coconut oil is an avouid for secretors and a neutral for

non-secretors.

Has anybody noticed a difference in the leaky gut syndrome after taking

coconut oil?

How much should a person take? How often? Empty stomach, or full?

Thanks.

We had discussion about this a few years back.

First of all, there was not the raw coconut oil when he did his research,

which makes for 2 very different products, so we wondered if that made a

difference.

Second, I just rechecked the website and the information, to me, seems to be

more indicative of the saturated fat that any other problem. Since coconut

oil is liquid below 76 degrees, that would not be a factor in the human

body.

And from my experience with it on myself and others, this is one I leave

open for questioning.

I don't have any internal health situations that I can say the coconut oil

has helped but on my skin in the winter it is marvelous!

And there is the possibility that you can get internal benefits from

external application of good fats and thus avoid possible reactions from

digestion absorption.

I have wondered if Dr. D'Adamo tested raw dairy products instead of pasteurized

homogenized if the results would be different too.

Maureen,

Coconut oil definitely helped me reverse a severe case of leaky gut

syndrome. I think it's important to note that identifying and then

eliminating the source of the LGS is the most important factor in

reversing the condition. For me, it was a simple matter of

immediately switching away from my new diet and back to my old diet.

Since I never ate processed or junk foods before or during this diet

change, it was easy for me to identify the culprit of LGS as my new

diet. For others, the most common solution may be to just eliminate

all processed or junk foods altogether.

Although I made noticeable improvements by switching diets, the

healing process moved slowly. After discovering and adding coconut

oil, I noticed an exponential improvement in my health and reversal

of LGS. Coconut oil is often referred to as a " healing fat " .

Saturated fatty acids comprise over half of your cell membranes. A

highly saturated fat like coconut oil helps restore the cell

membranes of your intestines while boosting your immune system. Even

folks that have noticed a food sensitivity to eating coconut " meat "

usually respond extremely well to the oil.

If memory serves me correct, the general recommended daily intake of

coconut oil is 1- tablespoon per 50lbs of bodyweight. As far as

specific recommendations for LGS, I don't recall anyone credible

advocating set amounts. Personally, I took 2 tablespoons of coconut

oil 2 hours prior to eating (breakfast, lunch and dinner-in

accordance with my bodyweight). My rationale was to have the coconut

oil in my intestines ahead of food to promote healing. In addition,

coconut oil any closer to mealtime greatly diminished my appetite,

and taken with food made me feel so full that I was going to explode.

Coconut oil too close to bedtime kept me up all night, but just prior

to exercise was 10- times better than any so-called " energy drink " .

Wow. Mike it gave you that much energy? I better start using it again.

Hi Bee and all,

I have some questions regarding coconut oil.

Is Jarrow Formulas EVCO ok on the diet? They say it's unrefined.

http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Coconut-Oil-Extra-Virgin-32-oz-908-g/7227?a\

t=0

After epilation is it ok to apply coconut oil on skin or it will clog pores?

And when going out in the sun what should I use for CO storage? I'm not gonna

take it out of the jar and apply to my body...

Ina.

+++Hi Ina,

That is a good coconut oil to take. Coconut oil does not clog the pores.

I put it in small glass jars, and take one with me when I go to the beach. Or

you could put some in a bottle that has a tip so you can squeeze it out into

your hand.

Hi andra,

What type of wax do you use? I'm trying to find a better one for my eyebrows and

lip. If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Coconut oil is wonderful on the skin and will not clog your pores.  I use it on

my face daily and on my legs after waxing on a regular basis.  Hope that helps,

Hello ,

I make my own sugar-based wax, from a recipe I found on the internet. Before I

started using it I double checked with Bee, who indicated that using sugar

externally in this way wasn't the same as consuming it (should be obvious but I

got very concerned :)).

The ingredients are:

sugar

lemon juice

water

glycerin

Google around and you should find a whole number of recipes with instructions

and amounts. You mix together the ingredients and heat them until they firm a

bit. Of course, you need to wait for them to cool down before use, since you

can burn yourself horribly with hot sugar!

I use it on my legs; my mother has used it on her lip. Works a treat. One such

batch (I think it's 2 cups sugar) easily is enough for 2 half-leg applications

plus some left over.

Here's to home pampering :)
