Guest guest
Last Saturday I changed my dog's food from one healthy version (4Health from TSC http://tinyurl.com/23tsary) to another healthy (maybe healthier) version, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul (http://tinyurl.com/2b54m4k) On Monday he was showing signs of allergies: puffy eyes and puffy muzzle. The vet thought it may have been some sort of insect bite or he ate something that didn't " agree " with him. They said I could give him an antihistamine, and it helped supress the histamine and reduced the swelling. Today is Friday, and he is not as puffy but is doing a lot more itching around his head, muzzle and paws. Has anyone expreienced this before? Do you think it is the food change? He has also been getting 1 Tbsp. of Coconut Oil every morning since Monday...could he be experiencing healing reactions? He's only 8 months old and I DON'T want to take him to the vet for steroid shots or " allergy " testing/treatment. (I've overcome the allergy thing myself.) Also, any natural suggestion for alleviating his itching and swelling? Thanks everyone, Amy...a teacher on summer break!
