Guest guest
I too gained weight when I first started. After I stopped the cheats my weight went down. I've got a bit more to loose (looking to get my BMI/waist line out of the obese category). I stopped looking the last couple of months and the only think I could think of is that perhaps my daily protein has dropped to low. I'm having the egg drink in the morning with 1/3 cup CO. Then I havent been eating again till dinner time. I'm GUESSING my body is holding on everything it can because it's not getting enough protein. I'm trying to up the protein to see if that will help with the weight issue. I would love to hear from others. Guest guest
Hello , If you've ever had any weight fluctuations in the past, when you are on the program you may begin retracing them. This has happened to a number of other members. Additionally, our fat is a " safe " place for the body to store toxins - away from the vital organs - before it is able to get rid of these completely. I, too, am currently at the heaviest I have ever been, and I wonder if that is not the case for me. It can't be retracing - since I was always a skinny number. And when I first started the diet, I lost a *lot* of weight. I suppose I view my extra bulk as a way-station for toxins on their way from my organs out into the wide world, LOL. Rest assured that your body knows exactly what it is doing! Whenever I get a bit uncomfortable, I take a look at how many months I still need to heal everything back through my conception, and remind myself that there's still a lot to do, and plenty of time for my body to " perfect " itself along the way Hope that helps, andra, a group moderator At the beginning of the diet, I lost some weight and was maybe too thin, but now it creeped up (at first I thought it was a good sign and was at a good 'ideal' weight) Now, I feel it has passed that point and my legs and middle are much heavier now. I have had to buy new clothes! I haven't weighed this much in years. I don't want to cut down on the coconut oil I'm up to? I haven't changed my diet at all - not sure what its from? Any suggestions? My weight was up 2 lbs on Wednesday then 2 more lbs the following Saturday. All in all, I'm up 16 lbs in about 5 weeks! , began 03/09/
Guest guest
You could try to lower your carb intake, and see if that makes your weight go down. I know I've seen prior posts where Bee said we can eat less carbs than what the Optimal Diet calculator recommends for carbs. I would think if you had less than 20g of carbs per day you would lose weight b/c then your body would go into ketosis.
Guest guest
Hi , First of all, a good fat like coconut oil is not making you gain weight. I see that several folks have chimed in to offer some suggestions for you. All of which I would tell you, as well. This is a topic that comes up periodically here on the group so you might also want to search through old posts to see what explanations Bee has given in the past. Just to assure yourself that your ratios are correct, you might recalculate those. Also, I recall past discussion here that folks who tend to consume a lot of olive oil have gained more weight than they would like. Here are links to a couple of articles on Bee's website that will explain why the good fats aren't the cause of weight gain and how essential they are to good health: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods15.php http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods14.php Jackie (group moderator) > > At the beginning of the diet, I lost some weight and was maybe too thin, but now it creeped up (at first I thought it was a good sign and was at a good 'ideal' weight) Now, I feel it has passed that point and my legs and middle are much heavier now. Guest guest
My weight kept creeping up when I cheated with carbs. I also noticed that when my protein intake exceeded my recommendation (79g), I also put on weight. Now that I am following my ratio's 'to a T', my weight is very stable..for the first time in years! Guest guest
That's exactly what I did...lowered my carbs to 10g and I did that for months and I still didn't lose the weight I had gained from the Optimal Diet ratios. Eating so little carbs didn't help. And I was in ketosis for months, too, and that didn't do anything. I even waited the 4 months (and then some) that Bee says it takes to become a fat burner. Not me...my body was not burning fat in ketosis so I don't know if this is true for some people and not for others. I am eating small portions but a little more protein and a little more carbs (veggies), and a little less fat, and I lost 2 lbs this past week...finally. I want to be healthy and heal but I also don't want to gain more weight on my very small frame (5 ft tall). Everyone is different and I tried to be a fat burner on super high fat and it just made me gain weight. Now I eat the fat in moderation, with slightly more coconut oil than butter, as Bee suggested to me several weeks ago. > > You could try to lower your carb intake, and see if that makes your weight go down.
