Dear Bee,

My name is Melody, I'm 34, and I have been suffering with candida for years.

More recently (since 3/07) I developed IBS and debilitating CFS. I started my

road back to good health in December 09 and have made excellent progress these

last few months. My fatigue is lifting, brain fog is evaporating, my mood is

much better, and I'm completely off antidepressants as of this week (down from

75 mg of one and 25 mg of another)! Before I discovered your website and all of

its wonderful information, I had found an online candida assessment and scored

374 in January. When I took it again last week, my score was down to 49! It

decreased from the " severe " category to the " mild " category! What a miracle to

have been made aware of candida and more recently to have been introduced to you

and this group.

One more important piece of background information: I had a kidney transplant 21

years ago at the age of 13, so I have to take anti-rejection meds daily.

Here is my concern. At my most recent kidney doctor's appointment in March, my

cholesterol was 255, the highest it has ever been. A dietician from my doctor's

office called and informed me that I need to be medicated to bring down the

cholesterol levels, which I politely refused and asked about changes in diet.

She asked about my current diet, which (naturally!) is rich in eggs, coconut

oil, and butter, and she scolded me and told me to stay away from those foods.

I'm not sure what to do. What would you advise? I believe strongly in the power

of natural healing (I've had two extremely severe healing reactions in the past

3 months and my health continues to improve), and I don't want to give up the

very foods that are contributing to that progress!

With thanksgiving for all you do,

Melody
