Hi there. I've been on a Candida diet since November in various permutations -

the Complete Candida book, Body Ecology, recommendations from my naturopath and

finally came across your website a month or so ago. I'm glad I've finally

gotten here because I've had about 70% die off so far (and lost 20 lbs!) and am

sort of at that spot where I needed to know how strict to get and how to fight

off the rest!

After the holidays I had my daughters (5 and 3) checked as well and the younger

one definitely has it so we have all shifted towards the diet in order to

increase all of our health. So as I have slowly restricted their diet further

and further it has been good to find recipes and ideas for things to make

although it's a big transition for them. I looked on the website and through

the messages for things about children.

My 5 yo DD had thrush as a toddler and got nystatin and we treated with gentian

violet as well so I'm assuming that is why she doesn't have Candida (obviously

she did!). I'm wondering if Nystatin is a good idea for my 3 yo. I know that's

just a " quick fix " typical of our society but she doesn't much like coconut oil

(at least not straight like my 5yo and I do). Our naturopath told me to give

her Candisolve so she's been taking that for a few months.

And of course it's hard to keep her from eating other foods at preschool or

anywhere that it's offered and I'm not there to say no thank you. I haven't put

my foot down outside the home as I should because it's so hard to deal with the

whining and melt downs and usually leaving wherever we are (and that's from both

kids). But I'm starting to now and to investigate alternatives so that they

have something nutritious and on the diet for snacks at friends' houses and

birthday parties.

So I guess I'm looking for good snack and desserty ideas for little kids.

Usually their " snack " after dinner is whole plain yogurt with a little stevia in

it or cut up strawberries and extra acidophilus. Or we make popsicles out of

our smoothies but our smoothies are usually froz berry based with spinach, raw

eggs, plain yogurt, coconut oil and extra acidophilus. I did see some of the

recipes on the website so I will try those (like the fake pumpkin pie...).

Also, we host Easter every year and I was wondering if anyone had some favorite

recipes from the website or otherwise that would be good for entertaining non

Candida folks and kids.

Thanks,

Hanging in there on month 4...

Natasha
