Labiba, I don't know how big your cups are.

The easiest method of measuring correctly is in grams to litres.

My basic Kombucha recipe is:

1 Litre of water

80 grams sugar

2 teabags or 2 teaspoons of open leaf tea (black, green, oolong or white).

Make tea from half the water and all the tea.

Leave to stand for 5 - 10 minutes.

Strain the tea leaves/bags out.

Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

Add the cool water and stir again.

When quite cool, add to your culture, or add culture to it.

You can multiply the recipe depending how much you are wanting to brew.,

example:

2 litres .... 160 grams ... 4 tea bags/tsps

5 litres .... 400grams ... 10 tea bags/tsps

Too much sugar can slow down the brew and does not make such good KT

with good acidic taste.

What is the size of your brew?

How many litres does your container hold?

sincere regards,

Margret:-)

I love you Dr. Dan!! We must get beyond trying to figure out what caused the positives and realize that the results are arbitrary and completely beyond our control. Of course we must continue to abstain from ingesting alcohol, but that is simply not enough. This test has caused all of us enough emotional pain, don't allow it to control every aspect of your lives, that behavior is what brought most of this into these programs in the first place. I have done step 1 with regards to EtG... realized I am powerless over the results. That does not mean I won't fight, I just will not spend another minute of what is my now a great life in recovery trying to control that over which I have no control. I too believe the Swedish study will ultimately be the end of the EtG debacle. It will just take time.

Hello Steph,

Can you help me understand here? I'm sorry, but this makes absolutely

no sense whatsoever to me.

With all due respect, why in the world would you want to put anything

into your body that was canned, freeze dried, dehydrated, packaged or

frozen? Do you honestly feel that someone who's chronically ill can

ever expect to become well by eating these kinds of highly processed

products you're asking about? Wouldn't it make much more sense to

instead choose to eat as many fresh whole foods as possible? Why not

focus on locating and purchasing the freshest, most natural, minimally

processed, preferably organic foods that you can possibly find?

My honest feeling is that Hippocrates was spot on when he said " Let

food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. "

Why do you think you have to starve? What " can't " you eat besides

foods that contain sugar and why?

Steph,

I've read plenty on chronic candida and am perfectly familiar with

starch/sugar free diets. But you still didn't answer my questions.

Can you please explain why you are looking to put any sort of

canned/dehydrated/packaged/processed foods into your body, rather than

seeking out the freshest, least processed foods possible with which to

nourish yourself? There are plenty of whole, unprocessed foods that

don't contain starch and sugar. My question was, what foods BESIDES

those that contain starch/sugar " can't " you eat?

Sometimes I see them sometimes I don't. I bet some are too small to

see, others get engorged when they feed and turn dark, while some

species may be hard to see either way.

Hi ,

Yes, very strange things come out of the skin. I think it is like Tim

said that these things can " morph " into different stages or substances

for self preservation....and or these things change form as they grow.

I, too have seen the black specks, the granule like " crystals " , the

fibers and white specks. The Epsom salts (Rita's recipe) and the

Windex for me has helped to remove a lot of that from my skin. I think

the " crawlers " must be the microscopic " babies " we can't see. Any

other theories out there?

Hi LadyDee96.

I think the larvae are the larger white flecks and crystal/granules. Kind of look like millia. I think the teeny tiny black specks are the first or second stage after the larval stage. It is these in which I am observing are the biggest problem. They can also be the hardest to see. The bigger black flecks and specks are adults, aging, feeding, dying. These are usually not a big problem for me. They seem to be at whatever end, whether thats dropping off to complete a stage somewhere else, or dying.

Has anybody else observed red streaks or scratches? I had one recently with two bite marks at the end. Also, where ever these teeny tiny black specks are, it seems to ballon into a lump resembling a bite like a mosquito and then when scratched, multiple black teeny tiny specks can be seen, and then, I see the start of a lesion. Anybody else or am I again alone in this? Any thoughts?

Hi Frito,

I think you are right.....those black specks seem to be the most

active of the stages. Have you ever seen any of these things jump

(like a flea)? I am also noticing that sometimes when I rub those

specks out of my skin, they sometimes " pull " back into a pore to

escape! I have also noticed the red streaks on occasion but not

frequently. How bizarre all of this is!

Lady,

Hope you don't mind the nickname? I have not seen them jump, but I have seen them pull back like you just described. You asked about jumping, I know that lice do as well as fleas. I also know that lice are capable of incorporating the fibers from the surrounding environment into their cacoon stage from larvae to whatever the next stage are. I also know they attach themselves and can incorporate themselves into the hair and follicles. I just can't find anything to describe what my son and I are suffering. It's like one thing penetrates the skin and then poof, there are many. Like a pregnant female giving birth, blooming. Vectoring or not?

Hi again,

No I don't mind the " nickname " ... " you can call me Al or you can call

me Ray " ....ha! :) I just realized I shortened your name, too. No

offense there either I hope.

About the " mites " , I have looked at many of the samples under my

microscope and I consistently see two types....the fiber cluster and

or a black speck with " tentacles " attached but nothing that even

begins to resemble a bug of any kind. In the very beginning I did

find the " bird " mites (?) but the lab could never id what type of

mite it was...just that it was some sort of ecto-parasite.

Frito,

When you say " lesion " are you describing a sore itchy bite or an

actual open sore that doesn't heal very well?

Believe it or not, Frito is my name. One I have been called all my life. My nickname. I don't change it from one forum to the next because it is me and I am what I am.........."just a chip off the ol something or another.......".......lol

I have experienced similar with our microscope. I have identified mites. I think I even saw a dust mite once. In water they look like little pin dots and they swim. To the naked eye, they look like dirt. Those fiber clusters I believe are larvae. Organic or man made, don't know. I am very interested in everyones observations here.

I also would like to discuss the red streaks and brown/cherry spots. The red streaks I have noticed two kinds. I think I may have had a total of four or five of these streaks. The first four were very pronounced, very red, and thick as in a skin streak would go. Out of those streaks, black dots came out of those. They were "peppered" all along or around it, but not within it. The last was very superficial. No black peppering, just two bite marks at the end. Vertical to the streak. I don't remember but there is a parasite that will cause physical injury to the skin in the form of a streak so to feed on the resultant blood from the skin capillaries. Is this the vector? Additionally, anyone suffering or suffered from these "streaks", WHERE did they occur for you? My streaks seem to have manifested in areas with very little hair or pores exist.

Have you or anybody also experienced brown speckles, freckles, or red cherry pin dots? I have noticed where ever these occur, is where I feel activity, or felt activity, and where I will eventually manifest a bite bump/lesion potential. One just doesn't get freckles on the soles of their feet. I have actually quite recently had some of these "come off" and it is a black speck surrounded by something. skin? In the skin, it appears brown or red. Anybody else with this experience?

A sore itchy crater of hell that takes weeks to heal. I have bites, lumps, bumps, teeny tiny bites, big bites, long bites, you name it, I have experienced it. Some look like pimples, others like mosquito bites, fly bites, advancing craters, some heal in three days, some in three months. Some that scar, some do not.

Hi Frito,

Yes, I definitely notice more skin " freckles " , the cherry red dots

(maybe where the babies feed?) and an increase in keritosis's as

well. I think this thing is capable of " mimic-ing " the existing moles

and marks on our skin maybe to stay hidden from view???? Very

strange. For me the red streaks appeared on one ankle and looked

like small broken capillaries but have since disappeared.

Hi ,

I've been on a lyme diet for over a month, and I can eat chocolate as

long as it doesn't have sugar, and it has to be alkali-processed

chocolate and not contain any soy or lecithin. I've been using

Hershey's Cocoa, 100% cacao, special dark. I put it in my coffee with

coconut milk and a little cinnamon for sweetness. You can also use

stevia as a sweetener. I'm not sure if the coconut milk is okay, I

may be cheating by using it, but the other things are okay on the lyme

diet. Avoid soy sauce like the plague. It really sets them off.

, you have a good routine going, but I absolutely believe the inside counts as well as the outside. If you have not used an internal cleanser, please consider it. You must change and treat your internal terrain just as diligently as your skin and environment. It is frustrating, but keep at it.

I dont know where I am with it all because the biting has stopped formy sister even in the hot spots, but she never had the crawling that Ido (which kind of make me think they are internal). The Crawling isstill there but even worse is that I am itchy which might be thedrying out of my skin due to the TTO (tea tree oil) in my 3x dailyapplication of EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil). I ate that herseys 100% cocoa straigth one day when i was dieing for

chocolate....who knew something so delicious could be so nasty in its

pure form :) I also tried making stevia cookies, ohhhhh grooooosss

How long do you think you will stick it out with diet?

I went off the diet last week, and honestly it felt like something was

waking up....it was a shock.....I didnt realize the huge difference I

feel while on this diet - I feel 100% but off it I am more like 80%....

I'm sure I've got something going on more than just the mites.

Do you use a lot of spelt flour? I have made some quiche bases, and

various things with it, and for how bland this diet is, it is rather

delicious....

I am going to try and go 3 months straight on stage 1, then go to

stage two for a very very long time....

Zmooks,

I've been enjoying the sugarless cocoa in my coffee, but I guess it

would be gross to eat it straight. I've gotten used to no sugar.

I haven't tried the spelt, but may at some point. I don't mind eating

brown rice every day, I've been cooking it with coconut milk and curry

to make it more interesting. I thought it was funny that the author

of the diet said to avoid asian food at all costs, since I've been

eating asian food my whole life. I believe what he meant was to avoid

asian food from restaurants because it oftentimes has MSG and soy.

After reading your post, I'm thinking I'll stay on this diet long

term, until I can move to a higher altitude! My only problem is that

I don't like meat so at some point I want to gradually phase out the

meat and phase in some whole grains. I am confused about Phase I and

II of the diet, because he never really explained Phase II, or when to

switch from Phase I to Phase II, so I've been on a modified Phase I.

I added coconut milk and mac nuts to my version of the diet, and the

mac nuts might not be a good idea. I ate some today for the first

time in a couple of weeks, and my skin is tingling (not good). The

coconut milk doesn't seem to do any harm. I buy Hawaiian Sun, which

has no additives.

I over looked your email, I do that a lot!

Yes your right I am still confused as to when is the right time to

switch to stage II. I switched after only 3 weeks on stage I, as I

noticed somewhere that he said as soon as the environment is under

control and the biting crawling/rashes have gone shortly after you

can do the second stage. So for months I was having nice things

like ice cream on spelt pancakes, and making my own chocolate chip

cookies out of spelt, muffins etc (it bakes just like white flour,

and has a nutty taste).....with no problems what so ever....then I

stopped the diet, and felt weird, it completely freaked me out.....I

had thought all along I was just doing the diet under a 'just in

case' premis, but that showed me that there is a bit more to the

equation....

so I am back of the first stage.....He acknowledges this isnt a

cure, more a means of control....He did talk about another man who

has a similar diet for sale who thinks that 3 months on a stage I

type diet might kick this.....not sure about that.....I will do the

three months and try all the cleanses, perhaps finish with one more

round of ivermectin and see how things go.

But yes I agree its a bit confussing, he also talks about how he was

on phase III for a decade before reinfection....does that mean

normal eatting?

OK well sorry this is probably pretty meaningless and boring for

anyone else in the group that doesnt know this diet....so I

apologize and want to add that if you want a copy just email my home

address and I will send you one pronto (wonderful Mel originally

sent it my way)

I just looked at the diet again, and on page 42 he explains when to go

from Stage I to Stage II - " ASAP " is what he says...as soon as all

crawling, itching, and biting and new lesions have healed or been gone

for at least two days. If you advance too quickly, it means you'll

experience some crawling or itching and have to retreat to Stage I for

a few more days. On page 43 he talks about moving to Stage III. It

isn't clear, but it sounds like in Stage III you test one food at a

time as you reintroduce foods into your diet.

I haven't done a strict Stage I, so maybe that's why my skin still

itches sometimes.
