Muscle needs protein to build and can utilize ketones via fat more efficiently than using carbs . However, it takes time for your body to start using fat as its fuel source . Thus, you may feel lethargic until then . Although, depending how ill you are with Candida, exercise like bodybuilding maybe counterproductive . Your body is trying to heal and thus you could potentially be stealing the nutrients needed by doing bodybuilding which in turn can prevent the healing process and make you sicker & accelerate Candida . At most , I would recommend calisthenics / push ups , dips ... etc maybe 10 minutes / 4 days a week for maintenance . Go according to how you feel . Rick, I've been involved with fitness & martial arts in conjunction with friends , family and colleagues that practice bodybuilding . I would advise once healed from Candida , focus rather on acquiring a gymnast physique and maintain it . Focus on being fit for life rather than the 10 year maximum term of average bodybuilders . Bodybuilding , even if one is healthy , is unnecessary and too demanding on the body and expensive on one's overall resources . Be in shape long term not short term ! Bodybuilders by age 50 , tops, are usually finished . I can tell you regardless of the supposed trigger , I can assure you nutrient deficiencies , Alcohol , Caffeine and Sugar is going to amplify it , Big Time ! Sugar alone , which is in almost everything , will cause your insulin, adrenaline and cortisol levels to rise . NOW , add the rest on top . NASTY ! Anxiety to the tenth power ! So , yes drop that junk and I assure you will feel significantly better , once that crap is no longer floating in your system . Check the success stories for more encouragement . I'm fairly certain as you progress , the social anxiety will not be as intense and may not even be an issue whatsoever . Bee, Your information has been amazing to read... you seem to be a wellspring of knowledge. A few quick questions: -Is it ok to be eating raw veges most of the time rather than cooked veg? -Is it possible to GAIN weight on your diet? Im quite thin and would rather be gaining weight at the same time. -Is the amount of protein you recommend (1g per kg of bodyweight) the final verdict, or is it possible to eat 1.2g-1.5g per kg of bodyweight? ...this is in regards to building some muscle. -Are tomatoes allowed to be eaten?... knowing that tomato is classified as a 'fruit'. -I heard that if you soak un-organic veges and fruits in apple cider vinegar/water for a few minutes and then wash under water the quality is just as good as organic veg. this I heard from Don Tolman, maybe youve heard of him? My anxiety/fear when speaking has alot to do with my physcological influences (beliefs, perceptions, etc.) but I feel this cleansing of the body will help also reduce it. My childhood was full of sugar intake... not that this CAUSED my stuttering but i feel it could of definately CONTRIBUTED to this tension. Ed, Thanks for the great info and thoughts! Im actually quite thin and want to gain some weight in general... Im 6'2 " ectomorph. Long limbs! Its going to be challenging to get to the point where the fats are used for energy instead of carbs, but it HAS to be done! =) And Im usually a big eater. Your digestion is very poor, so you shouldn't have any raw vegetables; they should all be cooked long enough for them to change color and to be very soft like my articles describe. > > -Is it possible to GAIN weight on your diet? But you can also use hydrogen peroxide. Add 1/4 cup of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide into a gallon of Cold Water. Soak light Vegetables (Lettuce, etc.) 20 minutes, thicker skinned Vegetables (like Cucumbers) for 30 minutes.
