Guest guest
Marcy, 3% is a great loss, congratulations! I'm sure you've lost more than 3 lbs of fat, but you've also gained muscle-and the scale doesn't show that! More importantly, you see and feel changes and your clothing sizes have shrunk. You're making more progress thanyou realize-keep it up! :-)
Guest guest
I agree, Marcy, 3% is a good loss. Don't get discouraged, check in often for support, and give it all you've got this week....and the next.....and the next. Go Marcy, go Marcy! . I am 5'5 " and now weigh 142, which is more than I've ever weighed before, except during pregnancy. I guess as we get older (38) our bodies change. When I got married 7 years ago I only weighed 128 to 130 lbs - I was working out 6 days a week with a personal trainer and doing cardio as much as lifting. It really worked for me, but now that I have kids I don't have that kind of time to devote to it like before. I appreciate your kind words, guess I should be happy with my progress so far and keep it up, like you said, I guess sometimes it gets hard. Guest guest
Welcome Marci, Concentrate on the positives! You said you are getting smaller, your bodyfat HAS changed (even if it isn't as fast as you want). Just be patient, don't lose intensity in your workouts and keep to your eating plan. It will happen! What are your other stats, body weight, goals, etc.? Are you using supplements? If so, which ones? Cheryl C. --------------------------------------------------------------------- >On February 6th I had my body fat checked and it was 26% - now its at 23% - not much of a change. I feel like I need to do something different, but I guess I don't know what that would be. Guest guest
Marci, I can relate to you. I too am 5'5" (going to be 38 this May) and weigh more now than I have before. But I'm wearing smaller sizes. The one thing I look at is that over the years, instead of losing lean mass, I have been adding it. Since muscle weighs lots more than fat, I am smaller, but the scale is higher. Don't associate your success with a number on a scale! And it's because of the time involved that I love BFL! I can't spend more than an hour in the gym anymore. Guest guest
Marci, Are you taking in any EFA's like Udo's or Flax Oil? It could help. I too have been fighting off a cold/sor throat, but only missed one workout this week. You can usually work through it unless you have a fever. I am feeling better now, just still have the congestion. Cheryl C. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >My stats are 5'5" and I weigh 142 lbs. Cheryl - I usually don't like to take much in the way of herbs or supplements - I'm stretching it taking Myoplex LOL. I've always been real sensitive to stuff like that, except for maybe vitamins, amino acids, that sort of thing. I think I am going to do cardio today and hopefully when I go to lift tomorrow I'll be able to breathe better! Guest guest
Marci, My stats are alot like yours. I'm 5'5" and weigh 142 now too. I started at 145 when I started the challenge 4 weeks ago. I also use Myoplex Lite twice a day, but I've started this last week taking Betagen and Cytoplex. I'm down to 23.9% BF and would like to be at 18 at least. Good luck getting back into your groove this week.

Guest guest
Hi Juni <:-) I've recently been reading through all Rashelle Haines' old LL newsletters & I think one of the testimonials at the bottom of this one may give you some answers & inspiration... http://www.lifelift.net/newsletters/26.shtml Apparently, a few people's bodies resist losing both weight AND inches at the beginning, but if you are consistantly doing LL flex-breathing correctly, you may suddenly see a BIG loss, followed by another extended " stall " and so on, alternately... If you also read the Q & A section on her website, you may find the info you need there as well <:-) Your friend, CC > > I bought life lift years ago and nothing happened (maybe I didn't do > it correctly, maybe I didn't give it enough time...). Guest guest
Thank you for your help. I went to the website and read the FAQ. There was some pretty good stuff there. I guess my body is resistant to change. I should have known, it doesn't respond well to diets either. After sending off my boyfriend to work, I use the dvd before I start my daily routine. I like the 'me' time and it does help keep me relaxed thru the day. So if nothing else comes of the dvds the 'me' time and starting my high stressed job relaxed is a good benefit. I just want to see results before I show the kids the zoo dvd. Thanks again Juni > > Hi Juni <:-) > > I've recently been reading through all Rashelle Haines' old LL > newsletters & I think one of the testimonials at the bottom of this > one > may give you some answers & inspiration... > > http://www.lifelift.net/newsletters/26.shtml > > Apparently, a few people's bodies resist losing both weight AND > inches > at the beginning, but if you are consistantly doing LL flex-breathing > correctly, you may suddenly see a BIG loss, followed by another > extended " stall " and so on, alternately... > > If you also read the Q & A section on her website, you may find the > info you need there as well <:-) > > Your friend, > CC >

Guest guest
Welcome Juni! I wouldn't wait to show the kids the video for many reasons. 1. they will love it so much and 2. I wouldn't want to wait to give my children the healthy fitness of the video. I wish my children would have had something like this. In a day and age where exercise for the young is something we do NOT stress, how much better for your children! I'm not sure why you are waiting and of course you are their mother, but if I were in your shoes I wouldn't wait a minute to let them become a healthier child! My 2 year old grandson is getting the video this month and I can hardly wait for my daughter-in-loves response! Jenni Are you trying to live a healthier life style and need support? Guest guest
Hi Jenni, There are two reasons to wait. 1st, not my kids, they belong to my boyfriend. Both kids have been heavy all their lives. When the kids are with us we do make sure we have fun activites that keep them busy and moving. However, they do live with their mom who allows them to spend all their waking time playing video games. I thought once they learned the breathing it would be something they can take home with them. If they saw results while they are with us this summer I would think they would be more likely to follow thru with it at home. 2nd, I have to prove to my boyfriend that simply doing breathing works because then he has to justify it to his ex. If we did not have an ex putting down every move we make before we made it I wouldn't have to go thru this. I would love to say hey kids lets do this....but that is not something we can do at the moment. I really do wish I could just pop the dvd in, but at this point the ex is threating to take us to court because we take the kids on a walk in the evening with the dogs on the beach. I really don't think anything will come of it, but to keep peace and to see his kids he has to bend to her wishes even if they are insane. Thanks for your input! Guest guest
Thank you for letting me vent. Anyway, I decided to count my breaths. I never did that before. I just did them in the morning to the dvd and did about 5-7 at a time at work a few times a day. So now I have a baggie with 50 almonds in it so I can keep track. Is that enough? Guest guest
YES, doing 40 flex-breaths at once should be enough to start the inch loss process -- and doing a few more (or even a LOT more?) here & there throughout the day will be " icing on the good health cake " <:-) Just be sure you're relaxed during LL workouts, gently emptying your lungs completely on every breath (straw exhale & pah exhale) and that you're holding all the air OUT for a count of 8-10 (or however long you can comfortably do it) Then really concentrate on flexing/contracting whichever target area you're working & before long I know you'll see results on your tape measure !!! Personally, I've found the best time to take my own measurements is first thing in the morning BEFORE doing any LifeLift for that day -- And I would never measure more often than once a week (I'm on LL maintenance now, so I only measure once a month these days) and also, I don't even own a scale, but every once in a blue moon, I will get on someone else's just to assure myself that my weight is staying DOWN <:-) Your friend, CC > > >> > > >> Welcome Juni! > > >> > > >> I wouldn't wait to show the kids the video for many reasons. > > >> > > >> 1. they will love it so much and > > >> 2.
