Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just joined and have a question. I recently began de-toxing from Lexapro, an anti-depressant (SSRI family) I had been on for about 6 months. About 2 months into the medication, very Candida-like symptoms began: tremendous abdominal bloating (like pregnancy, seriously); horrrrrrible gas (anti-social level and very embarassing); fatigue, and serious weight gain (about 20 lbs). Is there a relationship between Lexapro and Candida? Does the pill cause Candida or cause latent Candida (which I had before) to flare up? Thanks for your opinions. I am now off Lexapro about 2 weeks, have lost a few pounds and looking forward to getting this poison out of my system. I am eating and behaving as though I have candida (gluten-free, sugar free, etc) because the symptoms are so much the same.

It is very possible you have candida since candida is formed in the body to help protect us from toxins, and bad foods like sugars, starches, etc., since it feeds off of them, changing them into less damaging substances. In other words, candida happens in order to clean the body up of toxins. There are Four Causes of Failing Health, including candida: 1. Lack of proper nutrition and oxygen. 2. Accumulation of toxins, poisons, and waste. 3. Lowered vitality due to stress, shock, injury, emotional upsets, relationship or financial worries and concerns, etc. 4. Nutritional status inherited from your parents upon conception, which can be corrected by proper nutrition.
