Guest guest
Hi Bee and group, I have been on Bee's diet for roughly a month now and have noticed some healing reactions and some improvements. I have thyroid issues and currently take 88 micrograms of synthroid a day. I know this diet should correct my thyroid issues but what should I do with the medicine? Should I stop taking taking it altogether or lower the dose over time or what? The diet won't correct the issue right away so I am not sure what to do. Thanks for the time. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Sorry I didnt sign my last post right. My name is Suzie and below is a copy of the two messages you responded to me about. Yes I am taking the synthroid for about two years but my neck is still swollen although the swelling is less than it used to be. I don't have another appointment to check my levels until March 2011. I have not been diagnosed with adrenal issues. I have been on the program for one month with supplements except that my vitamin C isn't as high as it should be yet. (1500 mg/day) My questions are 1. Since I took meds for two years it should take roughly two months once completely on the program to clear up the thyroid issues right? I wonder if I am considered completely on the program yet since the Vitamin C isn't right yet. 2. If in fact it will take two months for my thyroid to normalize, should I continue with my thyroid meds for the next month or stop them now or what? 3. You have suggested in other posts that people get their levels checked before they lower their dosage or stop it. Should I do that? or was it because they were taking the medicine for longer? Sorry for the confusing post. I want to stop taking the medicine but I'm afraid of what might happen if I stop too early. Thanks so much for your response. Bless you Bee. Suzie Re: Coffee Enigma and thyroid medicine Hi there. Is your name ? Are you taking meds for low thyroid? Also, do you have adrenal issues? It doesn't make sense that taking thyroid meds hasn't made the swelling in your neck to go down, unless the diagnosis was wrong or the meds are. I only had a swollen neck due to high thyroid, not low thyroid. Bee > > > > Hi Bee and group, > > > > I went to the doctor for swelling in my neck in Jan. 2008 which turned out to be an enlarged thyroid. I started at 75 micrograms a day and about six months later my doctor increased the dose to 88 micrograms a day. Since then, my doctor says all the tests say I still need the same dose. Since my levels haven't changed in a while, my doctor set my next appointment in March 2011. > > > ++Hi Suzie. Since you started on thyroid meds just over 2 years ago I think it is safer to stop taking them after you're completely on this program for 1 month. > > You don't want to be taking them when your thyroid starts to recover/normalize since that's how I lost my thyroid in 1987. My thyroid went into a tizzy, from low to very high (Grave's Disease). > > All the best, Bee >
Guest guest
Hi Bee: I have taken been taking 1 1/2 grains of thyroid medication for many years now, approx. 13. I am fully on the program and have been for about 4 months. I had my thyroid checked just a month ago and no adjustment in the medication was indicated at all. Is there literature on your site that tells a schedule of getting off thyroid medication? When my thyroid medication was low last year I was very, very compromised so I would be unable to work I believe if I were to go off my medication completely. Thanks for your help. It will take approximately 13 months on this program for your thyroid to recover/normalize, i.e. 1 month of healing for every year, so you want to be off meds by then. I suggest you start getting tested every month to 6 weeks about 5 months before the 13 month timing, i.e. when you've been 8 months on my program. > > I am fully on the program and have been for about 4 months.
