Hi Wannette,

I may be wrong, but I'm sure when I was reading the About.com thyroid

posts on night time meds, I remember the B (their version of

Sheila, sorry Sheila!) Ssaying that she had experienced hives with

raising dose of TH, but that on hindsight it was her adrenals. UIt

may be worth having a look through (though it is 41 pages long!)

I would start back on Armour Wannette once your ferritin has started to rise. Your body will be more able to absorb the thyroid hormone replacement and hopefully, you will not get the hives back. It does appear that many people are bothered with hives on both synthetic and natural thyroid for some reason.

Luv - Sheila

I did start to feel better on Armour, so I am wondering what to start taking once my ferritin improves. Is it possible that once my ferritin improves maybe the T4 and T3 will naturally elevate? Are the hives/ rash, something to do with unuseable T4? or is this an allergic reaction to the fillers in Armour?Should I switch to another brand, or should go to a doctor and get some pharmaceutical T4 and T3?Wannette

Wannette,

You wrote:

> Chuck, you said you had hives on levo at some point?...

No, I had hives for three months prior to starting the meds. The hives

never came back after starting levothyroxine. In fact, the way I knew

something was wrong, was that I discontinued the anti-histamines for the

hives, but the side effects continued. The side effects are the well

known symptoms of hypoT.

Hives are a complex issue and could well be related to the adrenal

glucocorticoids, among lots of other things, including allergy to

fillers in meds. I found that avoiding certain foods, particularly nuts

and aged cheese, helped a great deal.

Hi,

I have a client that gets hives all over.

Has anyone had any experience with reducing them successfully?

Still not seeing what is causing it. It seems to be a combination of things. stress, toxins, emotions, hydration, Yes all of these may trigger hives, I would also look at the imbalance of the liver, gall bladder, pancreas (and how insulin may be involved in the stress process), lungs (how well does the lung expel toxins or do they have to exit through the skin?), which leads us to how stressed are the lymph's and skin.

His diet seems pretty good. below is what he eats:

DIET 1. No red meat in my diet, although i do eat wild game (moose) once a week. But, what is the moose eating? grass, corn?2. No sugar or sugar substitutes in my diet. None? So what sweetens things that may be sour? Honey? Maple syrup? I suspect something is used.3. No nicotine or caffeine in my diet.4. I eat Chicken, salmon(wild) , halibut (wild). Are the chickens free range? What is the asbestos and chemical toxicity showing on him? You'd be surprised what chickens pick up and put into their digestion.5. I eat more plain white corn chips than i used to (lightly salted) Some corn chips are made from scraps (corn powder) and it may contain mold; just as any other corn may have.6. I eat no garlic (bummer).

WHY? Okay maybe it would make him worse before better but what a great product for digestion that and onions7. I take NuPlus 2 times a day8. I take Liqui 5 2 times a day9. I take Alpha 20C before going to bed.10. I drink at least 24 oz of Calli tea a day. Water is filter so little chlorine should be in it. House water is well water. Has the water been tested and how much straight water does he drink?11. I drink rice milk with cereal in the morning, dinner at night, and before going to bed. total of ~30-40oz. Does he show an imbalance or sensitivity to rice...some do! Maybe he could try almond milk if it reacts.12. I eat Triscuits and raw cashews for snack. Triscuits which contain ....13. Usually have salads for lunch and or

dinner. A salad, is a salad is a salad...not! What is in the salad...personally I got hives every time I ate green peppers or items from the night shade family caused digestive issues...link back to enzyme deficiencies in some...linked to amino acid deficiency, linked to fatty acid deficiency. What type of dressing and how well does his digestive track break down raw vegetables....it he has gas or difficulty with stool again you're looking at improper digestion.14. My diet is fairly plain..... being plain doesn't guarantee anything. I'll never forget one of my clients who told me they had spastic colon problems and their doctor told them to eat nuts, they could have gravy, and raw vegetables... now whether that was true or how they heard what the doctor said...who knows! We always have to take nutrition deeper than what they say. There is just so many

variables. One of the things I learned while getting my Certification in Nutritional Counseling was...how little I really knew! It is a constant increase and journey of gathering knowledge. What a blessing we have to learn new things all the time.Note that I am drinking way more than i did this past summer, but it appears that it may still not be enough. Water amount is only part of the issue it is also the quality.YOGAWe are back taking classes again and just started the week prior to your test after being off since before xmas. normally 2 times a week for 1.5 hours. I have been working with a client who started having constant hives covering her body and face. She said hers began after going into a moldy /dusty barn type structure. The stop itch program under superlearning and focusing the searches on hives (use red box on bottom of screen as well as search) from the matrix and the DD significantly reduced the stress in her body asoociated with the hives as well as the swelling and itching.

You don't say if this is an ongoing problem or intermittent but I'm sure you have investigated the obvious - laundry detergent, soaps, lotions, household/body sprays, new linens?

With itching, 'mould' can be a possible explanation. The Scio might not pin-point it.

A mould diet will improve it fairly soon, but need to be kept for a year:

NO dairy, sugar, fruit/juice, grains (only rice), potatoes, tea, coffee, salad dressing, xylitol, B vitamins, margarine, .... and more

All meat, vegatables, lettuce, steevia, butter, herbal teas, .....

I forgot to mention distressing the liver, kidneys and intestines so that the food is digested properly. And because the immune system and glucose is often involved you may wish to take a look at the thymus, endocrine system and the pancreas.

Usually have salads for lunch and or dinner. A salad, is a salad is a salad...not! What is in the salad...personally I got hives every time I ate green peppers or items from the night shade family caused digestive issues...link back to enzyme deficiencies in some...linked to amino acid deficiency, linked to fatty acid deficiency. What type of dressing and how well does his digestive track break down raw vegetables.. ..it he has gas or difficulty with stool again you're looking at improper digestion.14. My diet is fairly plain..... being plain doesn't guarantee anything. I'll never forget one of my clients who told me they had spastic colon problems and their doctor told them to eat nuts, they could have gravy, and raw vegetables.. . now whether that was true or how they heard what the doctor said...who knows! We always have to take nutrition deeper than what they say. There is just so many variables. Great for stress concerns

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank & Create a great day

G'day QXCIers,

-this may be a long shot, but consider that there might

be a quantum-level hypersensitivity to raw cashews-even tho those things are

'cleaned'

-why not ask the guy to switch to walnut, almonds, etc

[-but then all nuts have mold!]

-maybe best of all to cut out nuts & observe consequences

cheers,

dar

Hello! All Health Practitioners.

TECHNOLOGY TAKES OUT THE GUESS WORK! The revolutionary SCIO quantum biofeedback device is the product of years of research combining holistic medicine with advanced quantum technology.

The SCIO gives you information about your body on a quantum energetic level.

It reveals anything that is negatively affecting health by finding energetic imbalances in the body by responding to the body's electric reactivity patterns.

In Nurtuting Traditions Sally Fallon writes that it sometimes happens that one

will have an allergic reaction to Kombucha.  She notes that if this happes that

person should detoxify with Beet Kvass for a few weeks and then try  Kombucha

again.  Also, you should start with only 4 oz and work your way up.

Bruce,

My wife had major hives and urticaria for 30 years, having to take shots every

day. she was allergic to most all meds and to 1/2 dozen foods. We both went

thru a detox via Sam Queen (http://www.healthrealities.com/) and she has been

completely free from that problem for 5 years with no allergies to food, meds,

etc. Sam Queen said that one would have to get their body prepared to detox or

the detox process itself could make you sick. It took us a couple of years to

detox by diet & supplements and at the end we had our amalgams removed.

She had a " flare " after having her thyroid removed and then RAI. So the thyroid

and/or Synthroid must also be associated with hives.

Bruce, long ago hubby had 3 major surgeries in 2 1/2 months span of time (perforated bowel, intended colostomy reduction but removed pocket of infection instead, then finally colostomy reduction) following that had many serious effects no one could get a handle on...now I recognize as adrenal fatigue/ exhaustion. Neurotoxins galore. In that time shortly after the last surgery, he developed what drs finally called "Garden Variety Hives" because they couldn't figure out anything that triggered them. I think (it's been too long to recall a lot of the details) the last effort to fix the problem was using prednisone. Hives never returned after that.

So, it sounds like you are doing all you can, and given time may resolve on their own. Shoring up the immune system as you are doing is probably a good thing. Hope they are resolving by now.

There are studies on everything being fake. Who did them, the medical association?

Results from users show the evidence right on them.

Just checking them out anyways.

Bruce,

Compresses definetly work. Applied to boils or indeed to draw out toxins

they are excellent. Old fashioned but they work. Try them out and see.

That is the answer to naysayers.
