Guest guest
Don't know about the NF, but I thought I might mention something about the hives that sounded fishy to me. One thing to look out for on issues of the type "when this happen THEN this happens" is OTHER forms of "ritual" behavior that occur at simultaneously but are not "acknowledged" in the analysis. My favorite example is that of a sports player who got migraines the day of the event. The Freudian folks were saying he was "avoiding" because of some not-specific inner conflict. Deeper analysis discovered that the team had a group "ritual" to go out for Coney Island hot dogs the day before a big game. Coney dogs (which he didn't eat at other times) have onions on them. A basic food/symptom timing chart showed onions caused migraines the next day. Voila! My thought was that perhaps Dad and daughter may stop in a local restaurant for an unusual meal when coming for NF, or something. Just wondering. -- Do Something Useful Re: Hives>> No but this would be great if it was - what it makes worse it can make better - could mean that EEG would help hives, or is it psoriasis? Guest guest
If she likes the Othmer's training, why not keep her there for 20 or 30 sessions? This can be very stablizing. Some find that training very sedating. Another issue may be she needs more 12-15 hz on the right side at C4, P4, and F4. Guest guest
Thank you all who have replied. The TLC was the first thing I did, which showed the hot temporals. I agree that the home/socail situation is huge and I am not looking for neurofeedback to fix everything, judt give the poor kid some relief. Thanks, especially for the counsel about length of time it can take. I have seen so many quick responses that I guess I get impatient. Guest guest
Where are they on your body? It could be detoxing reaction. Many have this when they first start supplementing. A buffered C powder is what Dr. Brownstein recommends to combat the effects. Also a detoxing bath of peroxide and epsom salts (1 cup of each) or 1 cup of dead sea salts will help with the issue. Hives Hi All,I have been taking 4 ioderol tablets for about 3 weeks now and thelast two days I have gotten hives. Has anyone else had this reaction?I don't know if it is coincidence or is caused by the iodine, so Ihave discontinued it to see if the problem resolves. Please let meknow what you think as I want to continue with the iodine therapy.Terry/Oregon
Guest guest
Hives have been listed as an iodine " sensitivity " indicator...i'd be suspicious of that particularly if there were other signs of " sensitivity " like sneezing, itching, facial swelling. just a lower dose may solve the problem. cindi > > Hi All, > I have been taking 4 ioderol tablets for about 3 weeks now and the > last two days I have gotten hives. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies. I have not had any iodine for 36 hours but am still having an allergic reaction. My feet itch like crazy and I have been sneezing more than normal. I will take lots of vitamin C today and will see if it helps. I was hoping it was just a detox reaction as the iodine has helped me and don’t want to quit taking it. Thanks, Terry/Oregon -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
This may or may not apply, but I get itchy feet and lower legs from oxalate build up and when my body is dumping oxalates. Taking a soak in a tub with oatmeal and epsom salts helpos a lot. So is being aware of what foods are high oxalate and avoiding them. Guest guest
Has the itching eased at all?  If it doesn't ease within a week, I would want to know how your thyroid & adrenals are doing... as those affect your immune system.  My theory is that iodine stimulates an auto immune response.  Not directly, but by strengthening the very things that the immune has been attacking all along. (e.g. thyroid). At least, that was how iodine seemed to affect me.  Amy Esselstyn wrote: Thanks for the replies. I have not had any iodine for 36 hours but am still having an allergic reaction. Guest guest
FWIW, this is a known side effect for people who have an IgA antibody build-up in their tissues. I avoided ALL iodine for years for this reason, which was probably a mistake in retrospect, but I still do not know what would be the right treatment. The IgA is activated when one takes iodine, and it causes massive itching. Topical benadryl (Caladryl) worked for me without the sleepy side effects of oral benadryl. But does the " activated " IgA clear faster from the system? I do not know. The IgA buildup was caused, in my case, by IgA allergies (gluten and casein), but it took a year or so to stop reacting to iodine after stopping eating those foods.-- Heidi On 12/21/06, Esselstyn <pesselstyn@...> wrote: Thanks for the replies. Guest guest
Pleasek out www.chronichives.com, and urticaria@groups, wealth of info on hives. If you have acute ones, they may be allergy based, if you have chronic ones, 6 weeks or more, they can have a variety of reasons for them,. Infections, allergies, thyroid, or they can be autoimmune. Sometimes hard to pinpoint the reasons, but if autoimmune, our immune systems are already in hyperdrive, and don't need to be stimulated. Please read up! Guest guest
Sounds like an allergic reaction to something! I had hives all over my torso when I reacted to Avelox. I will also get hives occasionally when my skin contacts certain things I am allergic to. I had to quit allergy shots because they were making my sinuses worse though I am allergic to a lot more than just dust mites. Maybe it is the shots? My sinuses cleared up a ton after I stopped shots. Hives I had surgery almost two months ago, and about three weeks ago some really nasty hives started to develop over my body. In addition to the surgery, I've also been on immunization therapy (shots) for allergy to dust mites. However, there is no real swelling of the injection site. Has anyone else with Samter's had this kind of experience. It'sss....*scratch scratch*...really...*rub itch*......annoying...

Guest guest
I use to have hives everyday. It was often related to pressure of a grocery bag across the wrist or something I ate. I was prescribed Seldane and later Allergra for it and they eventually went away after the full blown Samter's arrived. Guest guest
I was on the shots for almost a year. They were never able to get my dose up to the full maintenance dose. At the lower levels, I didn’t have problems other than the occasional itching at the shot site. It was the higher doses that caused the stuffy nose and also a reaction at the shot site, though I did not always get the reaction at the shot site. It was weird, but I do know that quitting them helped immensely. Hives I had surgery almost two months ago, and about three weeks ago some really nasty hives started to develop over my body. Guest guest
I hives once or twice a week, and I have for the past 11 years. Allegra takes care of them within a half an hour or so of taking the caplet. Like many of us, my allergy tests came up negative. My ENT said that a certain percentage of Samterites routinely get hives. Zyrtec works for some people but I found that Zyrtec gave me nightmares (strange side effect!) Guest guest
Hello all! I don't post very often anymore...but I do still lurk!? My son had episodes in a rather MAJOR way for 4 years until he had his tonsils/adenoids out at the age of 5 and has had what I can only describe as random and far between episodes since then.? He is almost 11 now and has for the past several months had major hives on the inside of his thighs all the way to his knees and occasionally on the tops of his feet.? I have taken him to the doctor for them and he has pretty much determined they are associated with .? They LOOK awful, but apparently are pretty harmless.? I would be happy to post photos if that would be helpful. Carol Reynolds and Casey Greenfield, IN
Guest guest
--- Aidan has had one case of Hives - and I had no idea what they are. He wasn't fevering at the time - but he had hives on top of hives for about three - five days . . . no one said anything to me about this being related to - and since he's been fevering 28 months and only had hives once - I don't know if I would see a correlation either in our case. Guest guest
I just received this from a health group about hives and thought whoever wrote about hives might be interested. Hives can be a very itchy reaction to a lot of things. I had it as a result of sulfa drugs (bactrim antibiotic) prescribed for sinus infection but didn't get the hives until the second time I used it. The doc said women are especially prone to this reaction, and usually it happens the second time (like in my instance) so now must list this as an allergy or allergic reaction and not use sulfa drugs any more. http://www.revolutionhealth.com/forums/asthma-allergies/121055?msc=A62689 What’s causing the hives I’ve had for 2 weeks? <http://click.revolutionhealth-newsletter.com/?ju=fe5b1376736502757415 & ls=fe2d1d\ 7274640c7e7c1472 & m=fef617797c6705 & l=fec715737462037b & s=fe2b15747060007c7d1174 & jb\ =ffcf14 & t=> in La Selva Beach CA
