Guest guest
I have done this alot and really enjoy it. To me, it is so relaxing, no pressures of the outside world. If there is anything I can offer, please feel free to ask. Susie
Guest guest
Dont get eaten by the bugs. Keep all foods in air tight containers and dont throw out food on the ground. No need attracting bears or other wildlife. Also dont leave the fire unattended. > I was wondering if any of u camped for a weekend outdoors. i got invited > to go and i never done anything out doors for more than one day. any > advice? >
Guest guest
Hi Janine, My first thing to say is to bring warm clothes. Something warm for your head would be smart. Second, you might want to make sure there are lockers to place your food in, if bears are around(racoons too!). A flashlight is handy, and if your doing some fishing, a good knife. Shoot! this list is longer than I thought... a lighter and matches to have a fire, ummm... and just enjoy yourself... I haven't been camping alot, just to Yosemite awhile back was my most recent trip. Guest guest
---HI, What kind of camping will you be doing? Will you be sleeping in a tent, trailer, motorhome, or maybe a cabin? This is what we need to know so we can give you ideas on what you will need. I would say you should definitely have good walking shoes, bug repellant, games, a few books, magazines, binoculars, a camera and warm clothing, sun screen, a flash light, lanterns. This is just for starters. I love to camp, but my idea of camping is in a trailer with all the extras- like a bed, and a refrigerator, electricity etc. Have fun and be careful and be sure to let us know what kind of camping you'll be doing. ~Patti~ In dwarfism , janine cosentino <j9ixoye2@o...> wrote: > I was wondering if any of u camped for a weekend outdoors. i got invited > to go and i never done anything out doors for more than one day. any > advice? > > >
Guest guest
> > Any food ideas for camping? Or all day hike? I'm not into week-long backpacking trips (my husband and 2 sons are) but have been able to stay on diet on simple campground trips. We tend to keep things simple. To get all the needed fats I make Bee's egg drink. I bought a plastic blender bottle made by Sundesa that has a round stainless steel spring that bounces around when you shake it from IHerb. All you need to do is boil water and shake. It leaks a little bit but makes a pretty good egg drink. Precut meats and vegetables make it easy to cook one dish meals in coconut oil over a fire. Chili is one of our favorites. We made amazing cornish game hens once...and we've roasted a whole chicken in a dutch oven. We also enjoy preparing fish. For hiking, we bring jerky and presoaked nuts along with our water. If you're going on an all day hike you could bring the bagged salmon or tuna and a fork. One thing we're really interested in trying is pemmican. It's made of lard and dried meat. Wellness Meats sells pemmican bars Ingredients: beef jerky, beef tallow, water, sea salt Hope this helps- Doree
Guest guest
I haven't been on a hike sinse I started the diet, but I have thought about what I will eat. The only thing I can come up with is canned salmon or canned tuna. Or, a thermos of soup. But if I didn't have time to prepare soup I'd just eat tuna and some vegetables, or maybe hard boiled eggs. One thing that is refreshing is to put mint leaves in a water bottle. You can also put cucumber slices in water and that is refreshing as well. But, ideally, your meal should have fat so I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe put butter in the soup or bring some butter to add to the tuna. I'm still figuring out how to get my fat intake up. Sincerely, > > Any food ideas for camping? Or all day hike? >
