Guest guest
Hi , Since you said it came after taking your supplements on an empty stomach, you can be fairly certain that you had a niacin flush. I know it's scary the first time you have it since your skin feels on fire and it can be quite itchy, but it's nothing to worry about. It should subside within an hour or so. Guest guest
Hi , I forgot to mention that you shouldn't take any benedryl because it's toxic and it will likely stop your flush. Instead, you want your skin to flush since it opens up your blood vessels and has many benefits. Guest guest
But should the niacin flush also include large patches of hives? > > Hi , > > Since you said it came after taking your supplements on an empty stomach, you can be fairly certain that you had a niacin flush. No, a niacin flush doesn't usually include hives, but it can since it helps your body detoxify. Hives are caused by the immune system producing histamine, which is a healing substance that helps get rid of toxins. So that's not a bad thing.
