Guest guest
Hi After feeling so well myself being on this diet and after reading 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston Price' I think I am going to put my 10 year old daughter on the diet. The trouble is my health problems have been very minor compared to hers. She is a complex being. When she was born she had a bowel obstruction and had 9 bowel operations by the time she was 1. Of course she had many antibiotics and hospitalisation. She has had 30cm of her bowel removed. We got through that although she has coeliac disease and has not eaten gluten or dairy for 8 years. Then her thyroid decided not to work and she is on thyroxine. And recently her adrenals started to fail for no reason and she does not produce cortisol so is on hydrocortisone. She has been doing a diet similar (except she has fruit as well)to this one as her biomed dr found out she was not tolerating grains. But dr charges like a wounded bull so I am comtemplating changing her over to Bee's supplements and stop seeing the biomed dr . She is on small amounts of CLo and CO and so it won't be too difficult. After reading Weston Price I am keen to get some butter oil. Just wondering how I monitor the hydrcortisone because if I take her off it she can have an adrenal crisis( a bit like a diabetic crisis). We see her encrinologist every 6 months. Will a high fat diet affect her if she has a shortened bowel already? Because of her thyroid problem I have been advised to keep her off broccoli and cabbage as it can impair iodine uptake ? What do you think? I know some children have followed the program with success. Just hope it is the right one for my complex one.
