Bee has stated that it is better to take a Vitamin A with retinyl palmitate

rather then one that contains soy. I'm not sure about safflower oil.

I found this shark liver oil without soy or vegetable oil - it doesn't state how

much Vitamin A is contained in here. Maybe someone could find out.

shark liver version as it has retinyl palmitate which is synthetic vit A and I

read that sharks are becoming an endangered species. I've found fish liver

sourced vit A but in the ingredients there is sallflower oil, which would be

such a small amount taking 1 capsule a day. Would this be ok?

What about the idea of taking 2 doses of Natural Factors " Mega Halibut Liver

Oil " in conjunction with my Green Pastures Cod Liver Oil(figuring I am getting

very little sun).

It would mean i'm getting somewhere near 30,000 IUs of Vitamin A, 3,800 IUs of

Vitamin D.

How much Vitamin D did the Alaskans get on an all fish diet? If someone knew on

average how many lbs of fish they eat per day, we could figure this out.

WAPF says that Vitamin D risks being toxic if there aren't ample amounts of

Vitamin A and Vitamin K2. I eat lots of eggs and butter so I don't see it being

an issue.

I am afraid to take synthetic Vitamin A because I took another form of synthetic

vitamin A in the past(isotretinoin) which damaged my health - and plus it seems

intuitive that synthetic vitamins like synthetic foods are just not as

healing(or counter healing).

Maybe Bee can lend her insight on this?

Thanks,

+++Hi . A natural vitamin A source is so much better than any synthetic

form, i.e. fish " liver " oil.

All the best, Bee

I'm taking it easy on the eggs and butter so I don't know if that would be too

much vit D for me. I think I'll just try this carlson brand, taking 1 capsule a

day plus 2 tsp of cod liver oil. Unless Bee, you think that small amount of

sallflower oil would be a problem?

Thanks!,

+++Hi . Why would that be too much vitamin D for you? I recommend the

same for all adults and it works well for everyone. My recommendations are

conservative too.

A small amount of safflower oil wouldn't be a problem.

Hi Bee,

on the website you recommend taking 800-1,200 IU of vit D. then mentioned

that too much vit D without enough A could be toxic and I'm not sure I'm getting

enough vit A. would I just need the recommended amount on your site

(20,000-30,000 IU) to be ok for having that much vit D? And actually I've just

recently read on the Dr. Mercola website that too much vit A inhibits the vit D.

and now he recommends not taking cod liver oil after previously highly

recommending it. so I'm a bit confused on that.

Thank you,

+++Hi . Here's the amounts in my supplements article you should be

getting:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp1.php#ab

Dr. Mercola is totally wrong about that - see this rebuttal to his new

recommendations about vitamin A by the Weston A. Price Foundation:

http://www.westonaprice.org/Cod-Liver-Oil-Setting-the-Record-Straight.html

Dr. Mercola provides a great service, however he gets many things wrong, so use

wise judgement when reading his articles.
