Rest, ice, compression, and elevation? My daughter twisted her ankle and I applied some oregano oil for the pain and she is keeping it elevated. It really hasn't swollen but has a small red hot spot on her outer ankle bone. You can feel the heat on the red spot. Should I up any of her supplements to help speed healing? > Thanks so much!!! +++Hi Darlene B. You did everything right initially, but do not use ice a long time. It helps the pain and takes down swelling, but in the long run the swelling is important for healing so you do not want to suppress it. Only increase vitamin C. Give her 4,000 mg in one dose, and then 1000 mg every hour while she is awake, until she gets loose stools, which means the vitamin C has well saturated her body, and then give her a little less per hour. Every time she gets loose stools give her a little less. Do it for about 5-7 days. Give her lots of nourishing foods like eggs, meats, broths, soup, good fats, etc. I hope she heals quickly. All the best, Bee
