Guest guest
Hi Dana: > > I was wondering about taking epsom salt baths - if it is still okay even though our city water is full of chlorine and who knows what else! > *** In the past, Bee has recommended that you get a shower head filter (these can cost around $25-$30) and then fill your tub using the the shower head for a bath. Bee has also recommended adding Vitamin C crystals (as ascorbic acid) to the bath water to remove the chlorine. > Also, do I really need to give up tampons? **** Bee does not recommend using tampons if you have a UTI or Vaginal yeast problem. Otherwise, the issue with tampons is that many brands add toxic chemicals to them during processing. Tampons are okay if you can find the unbleached unscented variety that are just cotton. I have made the switch to using natural sea sponges for my periods and I love them. You re-use them which is really cost effective and environmentally friendly. You wash them out with hydrogen peroxide between uses, and just rinse them in water during the day you use them. My food coop carries them packaged specifically for periods, but you can make your own from untreated, natural sea sponges. You either buy a few small sponges or cut a larger one into several small ones. Sometimes they are in the cosmetic section as " complexion sponges " or you can find the large version in art stores.
